What We Believe

“The Just Shall Live by Faith”
(Galatians 3:11)

"For I determined not to know any thing among you,
save Jesus Christ, and Him Crucified"
(I Corinthians 2:2)

1.) We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant (without error) Word of God, and is God’s revelation to man (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:20-21).

2.) Man is created by God. The theory of evolution is wrong, and a lie (Genesis 2:7).

3.) Man fell into sin, which separated man from God (Genesis Chapter 3).

4.) Sin brought Death. Because of His perfect justice and holiness, God was forced to pronounce sentence upon all mankind. The penalty for sin is death - separation from God during life, and after physical death, eternal separation from God in Hell (Genesis 3:24; Romans 6:23; Matthew 25:41,46; Revelation 20:11-15; Revelation 21:7-8).

5.) God promised to send a redeemer to pay the penalty for man’s sin (Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah Chapter 53; Psalm 22).

6.) Jesus: 100percent man and 100percent God. God became a man, the Deity of Jesus Christ. Christ was born of a virgin and lived a spotless, sinless life, keeping the law of God perfectly. Christ gave His life for us, shedding His own blood for us on the Cross, and rose again the third day (John 1:1,12,14,29; John 3:16-17; I Corinthians 15:3-5; Hebrews 9:14; I Peter 1:18-21, 2:22).

7.) Salvation by faith. The only way for man to be saved from eternal Hell is to believe on the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 14:6). Man cannot be saved by works (the good things we do or the bad things we don’t do) or religious ceremony, but only through faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ (Galatians Chapter 3; Romans 3:28; 4:13).

8.) Man must be Born Again. Sincere faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross results in the believing sinner being born again and regenerated by the Spirit of God. God’s Spirit takes up residence in the heart of the born again believer. Salvation is a free gift available to all ‘whosoever will’ (Jeremiah 31: 31-34; John 3:3; 3:16-17; 1:12; I John 3:1, 4:15).

9.) The Trinity. There is One God, existing as three coequal persons, in perfect oneness and union; God the Father, God the Son (Christ) and God the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

10.) The gift of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as a separate work of Gods Grace after regeneration (being born again). It is a baptism of enabling power, which Christ commanded his disciples to receive. The baptism is always evidenced initially by speaking in tongues (Matthew 3:11; Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; Acts 2:1-21; Acts 8:12-16; Acts 19:1-7). The Gifts of the Spirit, Divine Healing and the Prayer of Faith (I Corinthians 14; Mark 16:16-18; James 5:14-15).

11.) Victorious Christian Living - Sanctification by faith. Sinless perfection will not be a reality until the glorification of the saints. God’s Word does not teach sinless perfection, but it does teach a lifestyle of victory over sin which comes only through the power of the Holy Spirit, only in response to faith anchored in the atonement of Christ. Sanctification is a work of the Holy Spirit and cannot be attained through human effort or religious ceremony (Zechariah 4:6; Romans Chapters 6-8; Galatians Chapters 3-5; Romans 10:4).

12.) Water Baptism. Full immersion, a type and symbol of the believing sinner, washed completely clean of all sin and justified - through faith in the shed blood of Christ. There is no salvation in this ceremony (Matthew 3:13-17).

13.) The Lord’s Supper. A ceremony of remembrance commemorating the broken body of the Lord Jesus Christ and His precious blood shed for us. There is no salvation in this ordinance (I Corinthians 11:23-32; Luke 22:19-20).

14.) The Great Commission given to all believers by Christ (“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature” Mark 16:15).

15.) The Rapture of the Church. The imminent return of Christ to evacuate His Church (all born again believers) from the earth (I Corinthians 15:51-58; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; 5:9; Revelation 4:1).

16.) The Wrath to Come. After Christ evacuates His Church to Heaven, God will pour out His wrath upon the world in rebellion against Him (Revelation Chapters 5-20; Jude: 14-15).

17.) The Judgment Seat of Christ. Believers will be judged by Christ and rewarded according to their works (II Corinthians 5:10).

18.) The Second Coming of Christ (Revelation 19:11-21).

19.) The Millennial Reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1-10).

20.) The Great White Throne of God’s Judgment. All who have rejected Christ will give account to God and be cast into eternal fire (Revelation 20:12-15).

21.) The New Jerusalem. At the close of the Millennial Reign, the Heavenly City, New Jerusalem, will descend from God out of heaven and will be the eternal dwelling of the saints of God (Revelation 21:10-27; Hebrews 11:8-10,16; Hebrews 12:22).
