I take no pleasure or satisfaction in these warnings. Several times, I tried to remove this page. But the Lord would not allow it. Men do not choose the messenger. And the messenger dare not soften the message. I am torn between fierce loyalty to my country, and the warning I must speak. The truth is, it is my duty both to the Lord, and my country to say: "America. Return to the God who shed His Grace on thee - or you are doomed." And to the scoffers I ask: "What will you be doing 100 years from now? Does any man or nation think that they can defy God with impunity? Are we stronger than He?"

A Word to America’s Enemies
Lest the enemies of America use this material to justify their hatred of this nation, allow me to make a few things very clear. Yes, I have criticized America for her social, political, economic and spiritual sins. But remember, the Lord chastises and corrects those (nations as well as individuals) that He loves and blesses. Though her sins have weakened her somewhat, America still has plenty of light and fight left in her.
God would have spared the cities of Sodom and Gomorra for the sake of only ten righteous persons. In America today, there are tens of thousands of Saints standing in the gap, bombarding God’s Throne with prayers for Mercy and revival in America. Almighty God hears the cries of His People – and He will shed His Grace on America yet again! God is longsuffering - His mercies endure forever. He has bruised, but He will bind up America’s wounds.
God will not soon forget the Covenant He made with our Puritan forefathers. America has taken the light of Christ to the world; she has fed the starving masses of the world when no one else cared; America has fought to protect the oppressed peoples of the world, asking nothing in return but a place to bury our dead. The Lord is not unjust to forget these things.
Remember Nineveh. God’s pronouncements of judgment can be avoided – if the Church in America will repent, humble themselves and pray. Don’t count this great nation out – there is yet hope! I may berate my country for its sins. But I and every other American will lay down our life for her. As long as there is a remnant of consecrated Christians in this nation to stand in the gap, America’s enemies have only one thing to look forward to – pain, lots of pain. America, America, God shed His Grace on thee!

Chapter One
The Puritans through the Revolutionary War

Who were the Pilgrims? Why did they cross the Atlantic to come to a harsh, barren wilderness? For most Americans today, the word puritan conjures, at best, images of travelers dressed in strange clothes having picnics with Indians - and at worst, a group of dour, legalistic, self-righteous religious zealots and witch-hunters (if most modern historians are to be believed). But what is the truth? The truth is that the first settlers to New England were devout Christians who placed Christ supreme and were led by God to America. Their God-given vision was that the New World (America) would be a beacon of Christ's light to a sin-darkened world.
England's King James the First, in 1618, issued an edict that all Christians who refused to submit to the dictates of the spiritually corrupt Church of England must leave the country. It was then as it is today. The established, backslidden Church, headed by man and not Christ, resists and persecutes the true Church of Jesus Christ. The pilgrims own words best illustrate who they were. John Robinson, a noted puritan leader, wrote: “Now as the people of God in old time were called out...so are the people of God now to go out...and to build themselves as lively stones into a spiritual house, or temple, for the Lord...” And in a letter to the Virginia Company, Robinson and deacon William Brewster wrote: “We are knit together as a body in a most strict and sacred bond of covenant of the Lord...”
On August 5th, 1620, the puritans departed the old world aboard the Mayflower, a little over 100 in number, bound together as one body in Christ. Many hardships were endured prior to their departure, and even greater hardships lay ahead. After arriving in the new world in November of 1620, the pilgrims drafted the Mayflower Compact, which in effect was the official embodiment of their covenant with God and each other. The Compact defined their purpose in coming to America was: “...for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith”, and they declared themselves covenanted together into a “civil body politic”.
Evidently, the first Americans knew nothing about the “separation of Church and state” heralded today as cherished bedrock of American tradition. On the contrary, their very purpose and vision was to bring Christ to the new world, and this was to be accomplished together in covenant with God and one another as a “City set on a Hill”. It is upon this rock, a people covenanted together in service to Christ, that the foundation of America rests.
Our Puritan forefathers considered service to Christ and public service as one and inseparable. They also considered their responsibility to train up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord as a sacred trust, and knew that they would answer directly to God if they failed to do so properly. In the first years, the puritans endured brutal hardships, which would have caused less devoted men and women to quit. Nearly half their number, forty-seven, died the first winter. The second winter their daily ration for more than a month was five kernels of corn per person, per day. But their faith and commitment to Christ never wavered, and God showed himself faithful by providing numerous evidences of His sovereign guidance.
One of the prominent ministers of the Puritan era was John Winthrop, who summarized the faith and vision of our forefathers in a small essay called: A model for Christian Charity. In part, it reads:
“This love among Christians is a real thing, not imaginary...We are a company, professing ourselves fellow members of Christ...we aught to account ourselves knit together by this bond of love... If the Lord shall please to hear us...then hath He ratified this Covenant (The Mayflower Compact) and sealed our Commission...(and) will expect a strict performance of the Articles contained in it. But if we shall neglect the observance of these Articles...the Lord will surely break out in wrath against us. Now the only way to avoid this shipwreck (Gods wrath) and to provide for our posterity (that’s you and I), is to follow the counsel of Micah, to do justly, to love mercy, to walk humbly with our God...We must delight in each other, make one another’s condition our own, rejoice together, mourn together, labor and suffer together...as members of the same body (the Body of Christ)...So shall we keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace...We shall find that the God of Israel is among us, when ten of us shall be able to resist a thousand of our enemies, when He shall make us a praise and glory (the world would praise America)...For we must consider that we shall be as a City upon a Hill...”.
A City upon a Hill; an example of Christ to a lost and dying world. This was America's foundational vision and purpose given to her by God Himself. And God honored the obedience and devotion of our forefathers by bestowing on us the greatest national freedom and prosperity in the history of the world. But today, America has forgotten God. This covenant, entered into with the Lord, is just as valid and binding on American Christians today, this moment, in God’s sight, as it was nearly 300 years ago. God intended America to be “A City Upon a Hill” - not to spew out error, filth and sorceries - but to be a beacon of Christ’s Light to a lost and sin-darkened world. America is the Israel of the Gentiles. We do not supercede or take the place of the nation of Israel as some erroneously claim, but in type we are the Israel of the Gentiles. We are a Covenant People; America is a nation in Covenant with God.
America has been the recipient of the greatest blessings ever bestowed by God upon a people since the days of Solomon. Citizens born in America are the recipients of the greatest prosperity and blessing ever bestowed by God upon any nation in the history of the world. But with the blessing comes an awful, and sobering, responsibility. If we, the remnant of consecrated Christians in America, fail to hold up our end of the covenant, carry out the great commission and call America back to God, judgment and destruction will come. If we fail, America is doomed. Christians, we need to get our minds off our balance sheets and look up!
Peter Marshall and David Manuel, in The Light and The Glory, did a superb work of accurately researching not only the Puritan era and the controversy and misunderstanding surrounding the Salem Witch Trials, but the entirety of American history up to the Revolutionary War. It is listed in the recommended reading.
The Great Awakening

Jonathan Edwards, one of the greatest preachers of the Gospel, which America ever produced, shepherded a small church in Northampton, Massachusetts. This small-town is generally recognized as hosting the beginnings of the Great Awakening. In his Narrative of Surprising Conversions, Edwards described this great move of God: “...it seemed almost to be a flash of lightning upon the hearts of young people all over town...a great and earnest concern about...religion and the eternal world became universal in all parts of town and among persons of all degrees and ages...souls did, as it were, come by flocks to Jesus Christ...This work of God, as it was carried on and the number of souls multiplied, soon made a glorious alteration to the town, so that in the Spring and Summer following, Anno 1735, the town seemed to be full of the presence of God.” The revival soon spread to surrounding towns, across the state and eventually the entire nation in similar fashion.
God's primary instrument in galvanizing this nationwide revival, called the Great Awakening, was an English-born man by the name of George Whitefield. In 1733, at the age of 19, Whitefield enrolled at Oxford University where he became a contemporary of John and Charles Wesley. They and other devoted students formed a consecrated group of believers at Oxford and eventually came to be called the “Methodists”.
The story of Whitefield’s revelation of salvation by God's Grace is unique and amazing. Though devout and well-meaning, Whitefield’s works-based lifestyle did nothing to quell the sense of enmity, which he still felt existed between himself and God. He wrestled with this for months until his health began to suffer and his friends grew worried. Finally, with all his fleshly efforts exhausted, Whitefield threw himself down on his bed and cried, “I Thirst!” Having completely resigned his attempt to establish his own righteousness, Whitefield had abandoned himself to Christ - the condemnation that had weighted his heart lifted - and the Lord wondrously saved him! Whitefield would look back on this his whole life with joy, wonder and amazement that the Lord had saved him in this way.
Whitefield began to preach Jesus in England, but he felt a special burden for America. It was not long before the established Church in England began to close their pulpits to Whitefield. It was then as it still is today; man-centered ecclesiastical 'authority' rejects the true move of God. This did not stop Whitefield, however. Staying true to God's call on his life, Whitefield began open air preaching to the sin-hardened, degenerate, uneducated mine workers in Bristol, England. These ruffians were so cruel, that even the sea-hardened English sailors avoided them.
These dregs of English society had never even heard a preacher - let alone the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On a small hill near the exit of the mines, Whitefield preached Jesus to 200 miners the first day. As he preached white gutters made by their tears rolled down their hard-bitten cheeks. Whitefield was then called to the Diocese, where the Chancellor forbade Whitefield from preaching Jesus to the Bristol miners again! As Whitefield left the Chancellors office, the following scripture surely ran through his thoughts: “And they (the Pharisees) called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to harken unto you more than to God, judge ye” (Acts 4:18,19).
The next day Whitefield was back at Bristol preaching Jesus - and this time there were 2000 miners listening, the following Sunday there were 10,000 and the next Sunday there were 23,000! In 1739, Whitefield came to America because “...he dared trust that his preaching might help create one nation under God...” And God honored that trust. Wherever Whitefield preached, revival broke out. He preached 2, 3 even 4 times in a single day! Through his preaching and that of other selfless ministers, wholly devoted to Christ and the Way of the Cross, America did become united under God, and that unity would be sorely tested in just a few short years.
Through the Great Awakening, the Covenant Way and vision of our Puritan forefathers had been reawakened in the people, giving America the spiritual strength to obtain her independence and become what God has always intended her to be - a nation of Gospel light to a world dark and lost. America, America! God shed His grace on thee!
By the end of his life, George Whitefield had preached to more people in the open than any man before or since. His last sermon was preached in September of 1770 in Exeter, New Hampshire. His health had been destroyed by years of pushing himself relentlessly. He asked Christ for the strength to preach His Gospel just once more - and Jesus answered. After preaching several hours, Whitefield cried aloud: “I go! I go to rest prepared...O thought Devine! I shall soon be in a world where time, age, pain and sorrow are unknown... How willingly I would ever live to preach Christ! But I die to be with him!” The next morning at dawn, George Whitefield went home to be with his savior.
It is said, that one dark night, Satan himself appeared at the foot of Whitefield’s’ bed. Perhaps it was a last-ditch effort by Satan to frighten him into silence. What was Whitefield’s reaction? He sat up, rubbed sleep from his eyes for a moment, glanced at Satan and said: “Oh, it's only you.” After which Whitefield promptly rolled over and went back to sleep! Such was his total trust in Christ.
July 4th, 1776

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights...” The Declaration of Independence, US Constitution and Bill of Rights, penned 150 years after the Puritans first came to America, are no less than the political embodiment of the Christ-centered covenant the Pilgrims entered into with God and each other.
Sadly, today’s Americans have little knowledge of these crucial documents and the principles they contain. If asked, most average Americans would be able to recite little more than the First and Second Amendments, and possibly a few disconnected phrases of the Declaration. These documents, or rather the fundamental principles they set forth, have resulted in the greatest personal freedoms and prosperity ever known to any nation in history. They are every American citizen's national birthright, and like Esau, America as a whole has scorned both her historical and spiritual birthright.
What principles and ideals were paramount in the thinking of America's founders; and what truths did they consider self-evident? “...all men are created equal...” This was intended as an acknowledgment that all men are equally sinful, equally in need of a savior, equal in the possession of God-given rights, and most importantly - equal at the foot of the Cross of Christ. From the richest to the poorest, highest to the lowest, from presidents to peasants, all men are entitled to the same God-given rights, freedoms, respect and dignity - equal justice for all. For our founding fathers understood that God is no respecter of persons - that there is no aristocracy in the Kingdom of God.
"Created". Our founders staked not just their signatures, but pledged their lives, liberty and sacred honor on the eternal truth that all men are created by God. And this occurred years before Thomas Jefferson penned the words “separation of church and state” in personal correspondence. Jefferson was speaking of state mandated religion such as the Puritans experienced in England. It was not intended by Jefferson to advocate the removal of God from every aspect of political and social thought. Collectivist idiots quote this obscure reference and ignore the vast weight of evidence to the contrary contained not only in the writings of America’s founders, but in our very founding documents themselves.
“...that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights...” Where did America's founders proclaim that individual rights originated? Clearly, they did not originate with government. For if government could grant rights - government could just as easily take them away. This tyranny was the very reason they fought the War for Independence from England in the first place. So then, if God granted rights to men, what was the purpose of government?
“That to secure (protect) these Rights, Governments are instituted among men...” They defined the purpose of government as protecting each citizen’s God-given rights. And where did government's power to protect rights originate? “...deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.” So, God gave rights. The purpose of government is to protect those rights. And government gets the power to protect those God-given rights from the people. And our founding fathers went one step further and spelled out exactly what those God-given rights are in the first ten amendments to the Constitution, referred to as the Bill of Rights.
Our founders set up our federal government with just enough power to protect each individual's God-given rights from foreign and domestic threats. And to top it off, the tenth amendment stated that all powers not specifically granted to the federal government were for the states or the people. Yet modern collectivists have used the “general welfare” clause as an argument to extend government power far beyond the confines of the Constitution.
Our founders also had a healthy mistrust of government power. George Washington said of government: “Like fire, it is a dangerous servant - and a fearful master.” Like their Puritan fathers, our founders recognized the innate sinfulness and corruption of mans nature. Thomas Jefferson summarized their lack of faith in the good (and not-so-good) intentions of men wielding power, when he stated that the reason for the restrictions on federal power were to: “...bind men down from mischief, with the chains of the Constitution.” We see then that America's founding documents were intended not to restrict the people, but to confine government power within the strict limits of the Constitution. James Madison wrote that: “No man's life, liberty or property are safe, while the legislature is in session.”
Our founders also wisely separated the powers of government with checks and balances. Those separations are less distinct today than at any time in our history. They are vitally important to freedom because when the three powers are combined, they result in tyranny. The three powers are law maker (Congress - legislative branch), law enforcer (President - executive branch) and law interpreter (Supreme Court - judicial). It makes perfect sense. For if any one man or group of men make the laws, enforce the laws, and interpret the laws...well, as Thomas Jefferson said: “The accumulation of all powers, Executive, Judicial and Legislative, in the same hands, may rightly be defined as the very definition of tyranny.” And George Washington, in his farewell address, warned the three branches of government to: “...confine themselves within their respective spheres, avoiding the tendency of one branch to encroach upon the other.”
The Constitution did not come into being without difficulty. A costly war had been fought, and afterward during the Constitutional Convention, things got hopelessly bogged down in petty wrangling. It was then that the aged Benjamin Franklin stood and addressed the convention. More than a few jaws must have dropped as he spoke, for Franklin was a confirmed agnostic. Some must have wondered if the persistent attempts of his good friend, George Whitefield, to convert him had not been fruitful after all. Of all the men there, Franklin would have been the last any would have expected to speak these words:
“In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers, sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered...And have we now forgotten this powerful friend? Or do we imagine that we no longer need His assistance? I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth; That God rules in the affairs of man. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probably that an empire can rise without His aid? We have been assured, sir, in the sacred writings, that except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this. I therefore beg leave that, henceforth, prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven... be held in this assembly every morning before we proceed to business.” And those prayers have been offered each day in the U.S. Congress ever since.
With God's guidance, the Constitution was created - the greatest political document in human history. But the foundations of that document were laid when the Puritan Christian's landed at Plymouth 150 years earlier. As the delegates left the convention, a lady asked Franklin: “So, Mr. Franklin, what have you given us?” To which Franklin replied: “A republic, ma'am, if you can keep it!” What did Franklin mean by that? Thomas Jefferson was more specific, he said: “Yes, we have created a near-perfect republic. But will they (you and I) keep it, or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom?”
A Republic or a Democracy?

A college student recently related to this writer that, after stating that America was a republic in class, every student, and even the instructor, vehemently disagreed. A fitting illustration of the extreme lack of knowledge among Americans. Yes, Virginia, there is difference. Do we pledge allegiance to the flag, and to the 'democracy' for which it stands? No. “I pledge allegiance to the flag, and to the republic for which it stands...” Article 4, Section 4, Sentence 1, of the United States Constitution reads: “The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government...”
So what's the difference? Is it just semantics? No. Our representatives are democratically elected, which sometimes confuses the issue. But our form of government is a republic. A republic is the rule of law...each citizens God-given rights are protected by law, and not even a majority vote can infringe upon those rights. A democracy is majority (mob) rule. That means that the majority, 51 percent, can steal the wealth and violate the rights of the minority, 49 percent. In a democracy, the minority eventually gets irate and rebels against injustices, chaos eventually reigns, government inevitably breaks down, and a single leader (a tyrant - controlled by a group of other powerful men) eventually assumes power to restore ‘order’. A demagogue is an articulate and influential leader or leaders who influence and use the majority (public opinion) to further their own purposes.
You have heard the question asked: “Are we a government of laws or of men?” Most definitely of laws (Gods laws). James Madison wrote: “Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention...and have in general been as short in their lives as they are violent in their deaths.” Incidentally, America was first called a democracy by President Woodrow Wilson (more on Wilson later).
In 1928, the U.S. Army Training Manual defined democracy as: “A government of the masses...Results in mobocracy, attitude toward property is communistic - negating property rights. Results in demagoguism, license (everybody does whatever they feel like doing - sound familiar?), agitation, discontent, anarchy (chaos).” This is a completely accurate description of 'democracy' and the reason our founding fathers rejected this form of government. But, in 1952, the Soldiers Guide reads: “Because the United States is a democracy, the majority of the people decide...” Somebody changed the manual.
Limited Self Government

Our founders gave us a republic, which limited government power and protected the rights of each individual. But in order for it to work, the people had to be moral and govern themselves. George Washington said: “It is impossible to rightly govern mankind without God and the Bible.” Why did our founders consider God and the Bible so important?
Government is ordained by God. God intended for there to be governments: “Let every soul be subject to the higher powers. For there is no power (government and other authorities over us) but of God...Whosoever resists the power, resists the ordinance of God...For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Wilt thou then be not afraid of the power? do that which is good...For he (government) is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he bears not the sword in vain (the Officer don't carry his gun for decoration); for he is the minister of God to…execute wrath upon him that does evil” (Romans 13:1-4).
There are two ways God maintains order in the world. The first is individual self-control (self government), and the second is external control (the power of government). If everyone would voluntarily drive 55 miles per hour and obey other laws, then the need for external force (government) would be greatly reduced and nearly eliminated. Thus, the concept of limited self-government. And our founding fathers, such as George Washington, recognized that the only way to effectively control man's sinful impulses was through the power of Jesus Christ. Our founders were basically saying: “We can govern ourselves through the power of the Cross of Christ, therefore we don't need a big, oppressive government, we can limit government and live moral and free. For true Liberty is found only in Christ.”
But when a society begins to lose it's self control, to sin, live immoral lives, break the law and commit crimes, then God has ordained government to exert as much power as necessary to maintain order and execute His wrath. With this in mind, we see that the 'freedom' to 'do whatever you want', will eventually lead a society into slavery to government. And that is exactly the way God intended it. “For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged” (I Corinthians 11:31). And William Penn wrote: “If men will not be governed by God, then they must be governed by tyrants.”
In the 1850s, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote: “I do not know whether all Americans have a sincere faith in their religion...but I am certain that they hold it to be indispensable to the maintenance of republican institutions.” And finally, George Washington said again in his farewell address: “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports” (no separation of God and state there).
Here is a hypothetical question. Would the promotion of moral decline be a useful tool for a group, or groups, of powerful, evil people - assuming they wished to push the American people into slavery - or even a totalitarian world government?
Seeds of Destruction - Slavery

It is generally recognized by historians that there was a consensus among America's founding fathers that slavery was on the way out. It was disappearing all over the world and most men of that era were certain that it would not last for more than another 20 years. Thus, they chose not to address it in the Constitution - a deplorable error, and testament to the fact that they were indeed not perfect. David Manuel and Peter Marshall in The Light and the Glory, speculate that had Eli Whitney not invented the cotton gin, slavery very well may have disappeared from American soil. The cotton gin made the mass-production of cotton possible, and created the demand for cheap (slave) labor in the agricultural south.
The sure thing is that slavery was a great evil, an abomination to God, and contrary to America's founding principles. God, although patient, would not allow this evil to continue indefinitely in America, any more than He will allow sin to go unaddressed in the lives of His individual children. After giving America ample time to repent (judge herself) and be rid of this evil, God's unchanging justice would demand that He personally step in and judge America. This will be discussed in greater detail later.
May 1st, 1776

The enemy of our souls and of freedom never rests. Our founders warned that: “the price of freedom is eternal vigilance”. Unable to stop America from gaining her independence, Satan began to carefully sow seeds of destruction in the hope that a future generation of American's would become complacent enough to cooperate in, or at least ignore, their own destruction.
The Illuminati was formed in Bavaria on May 1st, 1776 (at about the same time America's founding fathers were declaring their independence) by a Jesuit Priest named Adam Weishaupt. It was formed as a secret society to overthrow all existing governments and create a New World Order - a one-world government. Weishaupt wrote: “The great strength of our order lies in it's concealment; let it never appear in any place under it's own name, but always covered by another name and another occupation.” This methodology will be a re-occurring evil theme exposed throughout the remainder of this work.
Further, Weishaupt summed up the religion of the Illuminati: “Man is not bad accept that he is made so by arbitrary morality (man is the product of his environment and oppressive moral standards). He is bad because religion, the state, and bad examples pervert him. When at last reason becomes the religion of men, then will the problem be solved”. It's the same old lie from the Garden of Eden (ye shall be as God), which lures man into the “freedom” of sin - which actually ends in slavery to Satan.
Later, Weishaupt would write: “I never thought that I should become the founder of a new religion” (humanism). In addition to religion (Christianity), Weishaupt lamented another obstacle to 'utopia' - patriotism. Weishaupt wrote: “With the origins of nations and peoples (Tower of Babel), the world ceased to be a great family...” And who should lead mankind into the New World Order, thus reuniting the human 'family'? Weishaupt answered: “The pupils (of the Illuminati) are convinced that the order will rule the world, every member therefore becomes a ruler.” I would happily inform all those who believe that Illuminati members will rule the world, that Almighty God has something quite different to say: “Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world...?” (I Corinthians 6:2).
Nesta Webster, a prominent researcher of the Illuminati, summarized their goals as follows: 1.) Abolition of private property; 2.) Abolition of inheritance; 3.) Abolition of patriotism; 4.) Abolition of the family; 5.) Abolition of religion (rather, to replace Christianity with Weishaupts new religion of humanism). These objectives are identical to those espoused by communism, socialism, humanism, collectivism, and a plethora of other ideologies and leftist thoughts prevalent in America today. Apparently, Weishaupts descendants have been extremely busy.
As a crucial means of accomplishing their objectives, the 'Illumined Ones' sought, and do seek, to draw into their inner circle men and women of influence and means. The 'carrot', if you will, used to lure them is the same promise offered by Satan to Jesus at the last temptation: “Again, the devil taketh him (Jesus) up into an exceeding high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then Jesus saith unto him, Get thee hence, Satan; for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve” (Matthew 4:9-10). The Lord Jesus Christ refused Satan's offer, but down through the ages, many sinful men have been more than happy to accept!
Coming To America

In 1777, Adam Weishaupt joined the Masonic Order to infiltrate and control it as a vehicle for the furtherance of Illuminati goals. According to Seventeen Eighty-Nine – an unfinished manuscript, by 1782 at the Masonic International Congress in Wilhemsbad: “Illuminati was injected into Freemasonry by indoctrinating the Masonic leaders”. The Bavarian Government discovered the Illuminati plans to overthrow and control the government and expelled them. It’s members scattered across Europe - and to America. Warnings sent to other European governments by the Bavarian’s went unheeded, being deemed too fantastic and unbelievable.
One of the places to which the Illuminati fled was America. They formed their first chapter in Virginia in 1786, organized the Callo-Italian Society and disciples in America began to call themselves Jacobins. Like chameleons, Illuminists would change shape, color and name frequently as they spread themselves into the fabric of American society. In 1798, Professor John Robinson, of Edinburgh University in Scotland, authored a book entitled Proofs of a Conspiracy. An American minister named G.W. Snyder sent a copy of Robinson's book to George Washington (a mason) in 1798. Washington replied in a letter to Snyder: “I have heard much of the nefarious and dangerous plan and doctrine of the Illuminati...It was not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati had not spread to the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am...”.
Enter - The International Bankers

The wealthy European banking houses and the secret societies are essentially two sides of the same coin (no pun intended). The money powers and secret societies have, like an octopus, woven their slimy tentacles ever deeper into America and the world. Their goal is world humanistic religion and a one-world government ruled by themselves. At the head of this drive is none other than Satan himself.
Meyer Rothschild, one founder of the Rothschild European Banking Empire, said: “Permit me to control the money of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.”
Amschel Moses Rothschild founded the first European banking house in the 1700s. He learned that loaning money to governments was far more lucrative than operating in the private sector. Amschel had five sons whom he set over banking houses throughout Europe, each in his respective country. Son Meyer was sent to Germany, Solomon to Austria, Nathan to England, Carl to Italy and James to France. By the end of the 1700s, the Rothschild dynasty had gained effective working control over the monetary policies of these nations.
The Rothschild’s needed no more than a glance across the Atlantic to recognize the enormous economic potential of the United States - and the benefits of controlling its money. For several years after the Revolutionary War, America struggled to standardize her currency. In 1788, George Washington appointed Alexander Hamilton as Secretary of the Treasury (a mistake). By 1791, Congress had granted a 20-year charter to the First Bank of the United States. America had her first central bank. Thus, the government, and by extension the American people, borrowed from the European bankers and repaid these loans - with interest. Debate began to rage then and more so in the years following whether or not Congress, given the responsibility to “coin money and regulate the value thereof” by the Constitution, could legally delegate that authority to private bankers.
The dangers of this were crystal clear to many of our founders, as it should be to us today. It seems that our founders were so busy with “Give me Liberty or give me Death”, and “We hold these truths to be self-evident...” (and rightly so), that after independence had been won, monetary matters were handled almost as an afterthought. America's founders would soon have reason to regret their inattention to the matter.

Chapter Two - 1800 to 1850
The Second Great Awakening

This era in American history was the time of the great Methodist circuit riders such as Francis Asbury, vast backwoods wilderness revivals, Lewis and Clark, fur trappers and mountain men, great preachers such as Charles Finney, great political Statesmen like John Quincy Adams, and the War of 1812. God has been faithful in every generation of Americans to raise up faithful men of God to call America's attention back to her original vision.
The First American Camp Meetings

At the turn of the 19th century, God again moved mightily. This time revival started in the West, in the backwoods of Kentucky, and spread through the western frontier. One minister God used to spearhead this Second Awakening was a Presbyterian minister of Scot/Irish ancestry named James McGrady. The tough, buckskin-clad preacher began ministering on the Kentucky frontier in 1798. McGrady and his congregations bombarded heaven with pleas for revival for two years.
Finally, in 1800, God answered and the Glory fell. Mercy drops soon turned to a torrent as revival spread across Kentucky and Tennessee. Other ministers such as John McGee and Barton W. Stone soon joined McGrady. In July 1800, a four-day camp meeting was organized at Gasper River, Kentucky - the first of it's kind in America. Woodsmen cut a large clearing in the forest, built a preaching stand eight feet high, and split logs for benches. And everyone was amazed when ten thousand people showed up! This is particularly significant when one realizes that the largest settlement in Kentucky at the time was Lexington, over 100 miles away, and its total population was only 1800 people.
This was just the beginning as camp meetings were organized all over the western frontier of that day. At another camp meeting near Cane Ridge, KY., attendance was estimated at twenty five thousand. Ministers preached simultaneously, just far enough away from each other to keep from overlapping. Multiple thousands were saved and transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Hundreds of Methodist circuit riders such as Francis Asbury, Jesse Lee and Peter Cartwright combed America, with nothing but horse and Bible, preaching the Gospel. These early revivals had a national impact - penetrating deep into America's consciousness and changing the entire face and direction of the nation.
Charles Grandeson Finney

Charles Finney was born in puritan Litchfield, Massachusetts. In 1794, at the age of two, his family joined the westward migration and eventually settled in Oneida County, New York. Finney chose self-education over entry into Yale, and in his early 20's began work in a small law office in Adams, New York.
Since the American Judicial System was based on English Common Law, and the common law in turn was based on the Bible, Finney began to study the Bible. However, in addition to principles of law, Finney also discovered that, in spite of his Presbyterian upbringing, he was: “...by no means in a state of mind to go to heaven, if I should die.” Finally, one Sunday in the Fall of 1821, Finney made up his mind that he “...would settle the question of my souls salvation at once...”
Several days later, the truth of the Gospel dawned on Finney: “I think then I saw, as clearly as I ever have in my life, the reality and the fullness of the atonement of Christ. I saw that His work was a finished work; and that instead of having, or needing, any righteousness of my own...I had to submit to the righteousness of God through Christ...”
Finney shut himself in with God, and Jesus did a glorious work in his life: “The Holy Spirit descended on me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul...It seemed like the very breath of God...I wept aloud with joy and love...I literally bellowed out the unutterable gushing’s of my heart. These waves came over me...one after the other, until I cried out, Lord, I shall die if these waves continue to pass over me! Yet I had no fear of death.” And the next morning, when Finney awoke: “Instantly, the baptism that I had received the night before, returned upon me in the same manner...I rose upon my knees in the bed and wept aloud with joy...My sense of guilt was gone; my sins were gone...”
A local Deacon who had retained Finney walked into his office shortly thereafter for a meeting. But Finney told him: “Deacon, I have a retainer from the Lord Jesus Christ to plead His cause, and I cannot plead yours.” Under Finney's anointed preaching, revival spread like wildfire all over Western New York State. Rochester, Utica, Evans Mills, DeKalb, and all points in between. Finney became one of the greatest preachers in American history. It is estimated that in excess of 500 thousand souls were saved under his ministry.
One critical footnote is that Finney considered the Baptism in the Holy Spirit a prerequisite to effective ministry for Christ. Finney wrote: “When Christ commissioned His Apostles to go and preach, he told them to abide in Jerusalem till they were endued with power from on high. This power...was the Baptism in the Holy Ghost...an indispensable qualification of a successful ministry; and I have often been surprised and pained that to this day so little stress is laid upon this qualification for preaching Christ to a sinful world.”
There is strong evidence that toward the end of his life, Finney became heretical in his teaching. When men, regardless of their personal brilliance and intellect, place human reason above the revealed Word of God, heresy and error are the inevitable result.
The Whiteman's

During the first quarter of the 1800s, God was raising up preachers like McGrady, Finney, Francis Asbury and hundreds of others lesser known to fan the flames of revival and keep America on course. A general burden for missions resulted in the Gospel of Christ being spread ever westward. The Methodists began the first mission’s outreach into the Oregon Territory, taking the Gospel to Indians, fur trappers and mountain men. It was Methodist minister, Jesse Lee, who preached the first sermon west of the Rockies.
Mission’s interest had been sparked in large part by and article, which appeared in the Methodist publication Christian Advocate and Journal. The article detailed the account of four Indians who had traveled more than 2000 miles from Oregon to St. Louis. The purpose of their journey was to find “the white man's book of heaven”, the Bible.
One of those who read the article was a young Christian doctor named Marcus Whiteman. Marcus Whiteman was born in Rushville, New York in 1802. His father died when he was 8 years old, and he was sent to live with his grandfather in Cummington, Mass. Whiteman learned the Bible and lived by what he found in it. He completed his medical studies and moved to Wheeler, New York to begin his medical career in 1832.
After reading the account of the Indians, Dr. Whiteman decided to go west, but he did not go alone. He first rode to the home of Judge Samuel Prentiss, and in less than a week he was engaged to the Judge's daughter, Narcissa, who had always wanted to be a missionary. Narcissa Prentice became the first white woman to travel west of the Rockies, across the Continental Divide.
The Whiteman's spent many years ministering to the Cayuse Indians in selfless devotion to Christ. God preserved them through the terrible loss of their 2-year-old girl, Alice Klarissa, in a drowning accident. Marcus would later tell his cousin, Perrin: “I hope no such trouble will ever happen to you in all your life. But some trouble is sure to come and I just want to tell you out of my experience that God is with us every minute. He helped us through that time. He will help you as He helped us. Don't forget that.” The frontier home of the Whiteman's soon became filled with orphaned children, including the daughters of Mountain Men Jim Bridger and Joseph Meek.
In 1843, Marcus traveled back east and was instrumental in convincing the United States Government to obtain the Oregon Territory. Whiteman also went to see Horace Greeley, editor of the New York Tribune. Greeley published the account of Whiteman's missionary work in Oregon, and soon settlers were flocking in droves to settle there - thus solidifying America's claim to the territory.
A measles epidemic broke out among the Indians in 1847. The superstitious Indians became convinced that the Whiteman's were poisoning them. Marcus and Narcissa were warned repeatedly that the Indians might kill them. But they refused to leave the suffering Indians and continued ministering to them. The Whiteman's were among 16 people murdered by a small band of Indians a short time later. Years earlier, Marcus Whiteman, after being warned of the dangers of traveling west, replied: “My death may do more for Oregon than my life.”
These selfless servants of Christ were instrumental in fulfilling God's plan for western America, and, more importantly, gave their lives preaching Christ to the lost Indian tribes of Oregon. “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone; but if it die, it brings forth much fruit” (John 12:24).
Great Statesmen
John Quincy Adams

John Quincy Adams was born in 1767, the son of John and Abigail Adams. He was four years old when his father signed the Declaration of Independence. JQA is this writers favorite historical American Statesman. For he was without question one of the greatest men of God and patriots in American history. A devout and consecrated Christian of Puritan lineage, JQA considered public service a sacred trust and duty.
As a young man, he toured Europe with his father. Upon returning to America he was eventually admitted to the Massachusetts State Bar. He also spent a short time as a professor at Harvard. Adams began his life-long career as a public servant in 1801 when he was elected to the Mass. State Senate. The State of Massachusetts subsequently selected him to represent the state in the United States Senate (U.S. Senators were originally chosen by the state governments).
Adams was instrumental in negotiating the Treaty of Ghent from 1812-1814, was appointed U.S. Secretary of State in 1817, and in 1819 negotiated the Transcontinental Treaty with Spain which, in addition to acquiring Florida from Spain, clearly defined for the first time America's southern border all the way to the Pacific. And the 'Monroe' Doctrine, adopted in 1822, was actually the brainchild of John Quincy Adams. This cornerstone of U.S. Foreign Policy basically stated that any further attempts by European powers to colonize the Western Hemisphere would be regarded as unfriendly by America.
In 1824, the American people, and more importantly God, placed their stamp of approval on JQA by electing him President of the United States. More important than what JQA did, to this writer, is the question of who was John Quincy Adams, the man. Adams loved Christ supreme and was an uncompromising patriot. When the dictates of his Christian conscience and love of America demanded, and the cause was just, John Quincy Adams stood rock-solid for Christ and the U.S. Constitution.
He would stubbornly and tenaciously fight for right, his face like flint, as the forces of evil and the enemy swirled menacingly around him threatening to destroy him. His uncompromising stand won him few friends - and many enemies. But JQA thought for himself and placed his duty to God and the welfare of his country above personal comfort or political expediency. As one of JQA's contemporaries, Joshua Giddings of Ohio, wrote: “Adams consults with no one, takes advice from no one, and holds himself accountable to no one but the nation.” And JQA was under no illusions about himself, knowing that his refusal to compromise, coupled with his personality, resulted in him being oft misunderstood. He wrote of himself: “I am a man of reserved, cold, austere and forbidding manners...”
John Quincy Adams was born to do battle, providing the cause was just. When pressured diplomatically and otherwise to the point that ordinary men would break, cave in, and compromise, John Quincy Adams would dig in like an old bulldog and refuse to yield a single inch! And the personal journal of JQA includes the following prayer: “...let me die upon the breach!” (to die, in a figurative sense, standing on the stone wall - having broken the enemies lines - waving his sword and urging his comrades “forward!”). O, that God would raise up such men of God and statesmen in America today!
John Quincy Adams hated the institution of slavery. He spoke often against it, and fought a decade long battle against the attempt by Congress to sweep the issue under the national rug - the Pinckney Gag Rule. This resolution passed by Congress made discussion of the slavery issue off limits to Congress. JQA stubbornly circumvented this rule at every opportunity, infuriating southern Representatives and often alienating most of his own friends and supporters.
He barely survived several censure attempts and was the recipient of numerous anonymous death threats, which threatened to “cut...out your guts” and “shoot you down in the street”. The scathing denunciation of one of his political opponents, Henry Wise, was typical of this sentiment: “...words cannot express the personal loathing, dread, and contempt I feel for...this fiend, the inspirer and leader of all abolition.”
Adams surely must have taken comfort in the words of his Savior: “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven;” (Matthew 5:11-12). And that Jesus Christ was his savior there can be no doubt, for JQA himself wrote: “My hopes for a future life are all founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ...”
God answered the prayer of John Quincy Adams to “die upon the breach”. On February 21st, 1848, as Adams arose to contend in Congress, he clutched his chest and slumped over on the arm of his chair. The final words uttered by Adams were: “This is the last of earth, I am content.” Total surrender to Christ, far from being a foreign concept as it is to most American Christians today, was a way of life for John Quincy Adams.
As a fitting epitaph, Edmond Dwight wrote of Adams: “His character seemed an embodiment of the heroic past...he led the van in the contest of liberty against slavery; the future history of this country is to be...shaped, more by his spirit than by that of any other man of the age.”
Daniel Webster

Another early patriot (among scores of others unmentioned here) was probably the greatest orator, and one of the most brilliant minds in American history, Daniel Webster. Beginning in 1819, Webster fought tirelessly to preserve the union. During America’s infancy, two political concepts vied for supremacy.
The first, its most notable advocate being Thomas Jefferson, held that the several states should remain sovereign. That the sovereign states had the right at any time to exercise that sovereignty and, at their discretion, ‘nullify’ any federal laws which the states decided were unconstitutional or not in the particular interest of the state.
The Federalists, as they were called, rightly contended that the former interpretation of the Constitution was a recipe for confusion and chaos, and not at all what the majority of America’s founders had intended. The federalist view contended that, although the federal government was to be held within strict limits, the individual states did not have the constitutional authority to ‘nullify’ federal legislation. This function, the federalists rightly insisted, was the responsibility and domain of the people. These two opposing views (states rights vs. federal union) would clash repeatedly, ultimately fueling the flames of civil war.
In 1819, a young attorney, Daniel Webster, argued a case before the Supreme Court involving his alma mater, Dartmouth College. Dartmouth was founded as a private, charitable university, but a grant from the state of New Hampshire financed it’s founding. The state, using this, had attempted to step in, take control of the college, making it a state-run institution (what government finances, it invariably seeks to control). The state was in fact attempting to step in, scrap Dartmouth’s charter, and issue a new one giving the state control of the university.
After a brilliant and impassioned argument by Webster, the Court issued its decision in favor of Dartmouth. The Court declared: “A corporation...possesses only those properties which the charter of it’s creation confers upon it...But is no more a state instrument than a natural person, exercising the same powers would be...this is a contract, the obligation of which cannot be impaired (by the state) without violating the Constitution of the United States.” So ended the first, but certainly not the last, attempt by collectivists at state control of private education.
Webster believed in the union and personally considered slavery a great evil. During his life, Webster would make other impassioned appeals against slavery and for the preservation of the union. He is probably most remembered for his vigorous defense of the union in his debate with Senator Haynes of South Carolina in 1830, referred to as the Haynes - Webster debate. Haynes had launched an all out attack on the federalists using the issue of slavery and the 1828 Tariff Act to expound on the doctrine of ‘nullification’ and states rights.
Webster refused to discuss slavery, because he saw the issue of nullification lurking in the shadows. Webster argued that the people were ultimately to judge what was constitutional and what was not; that the states did not have the authority to nullify federal law, and argued that if the doctrine of nullification should prevail, utter chaos would follow - with each state having a potentially different interpretation of the Constitution!
Webster further argued that the federal government was not the creation of state governments, but of the people. He concluded by calling the slogan of the Nullifiers (Liberty First and Union Afterwards), delusion and folly, ending with a final cry that reverberated throughout America: “Liberty and Union, Now and Forever, One and Inseparable!” The nullifiers were dealt a severe blow by Webster, and the American people were virtually unanimous in their support of Webster and the Federalist position. Daniel Webster died on June 29, 1852, after having written his own epitaph: “Lord, I believe. Help Thou mine unbelief!”
Nullification

The doctrine of the nullifiers, any intelligent person could see, was a recipe for disaster. Which leads to the question: Why were the nullifiers so rabidly supportive of this doctrine? Is it possible that we see the Illuminati and the European Bankers at work here? For if America were divided into individual sovereign nation-states, each with it’s own central bank of course, would this not prove enormously profitable to the Banking Houses? And should wars break out between these several sovereign states periodically, enormous additional profits would be forthcoming, would they not?
That is not to say that this writer thinks Thomas Jefferson was a willing tool of the Illuminati. Jefferson was rightly mistrustful of government power. But his support of states rights was misguided. The Illuminati and the bankers later took advantage of this false political doctrine to promote their own aims. But the nullifiers would strike back again in the pivotal year of 1832 (the same year the Second Bank charter came up for renewal).
On November 24th, the South Carolina Legislature declared the Tariff Act of 1828 ‘null’ and void, refused to pay associated tariffs to the U.S. Government - and threatened secession should the federal government attempt to compel payment! The fiery President Andrew Jackson immediately sent an unequivocal message to South Carolina: “...to say that any state may at pleasure secede from the union is to say that the United States is not a nation...Disunion by armed force is treason. Are you ready to incur its guilt?”
Thanks to the resolve of Jackson, South Carolina backed down. Jackson later commented: “I thought I would have to hang some of them and would have done it...The nullifiers in the south intend to blow up a storm on the slavery question...for be assured, these men would do any act to destroy this union and form a southern Confederacy...” I remind the reader that this is 1832, not 1860.
A good case can be made that the Civil War was being provoked by agitators and ‘provocateurs’ decades before the actual outbreak of hostilities. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance. When God’s servants, be they preachers, presidents, farmers or statesmen, serve Christ faithfully, Satan’s plans for our destruction are de-railed. But the seeds of destruction were lurking just under the surface of America, waiting for the first generation, which would acquiesce to the will of Satan’s Ministers (more on the Civil War later).
These ministers are not some intangible ‘force’ mysteriously pushing America over the brink to destruction - they are real people; some willing and knowing servants of Satan, but most are merely deceived and useful tools. One final point needs to be made crystal clear, in God’s eyes; slavery was the issue surrounding the Civil War. All bow the knee to Christ, whether they are powerful bankers or secret societies. Every knee will bow to Christ and every mouth will proclaim Him Lord. God is always in control.
Seeds of Destruction Take Root

While the revival of the Second Great Awakening was sweeping America, the enemies of God and of freedom did not slumber. In 1811, the 20-year charter of the First Bank of the United States expired. The American people were becoming aware of the dangers to freedom in allowing private bankers from Europe to control America's money supply. Thus, President James Madison allowed the charter to lapse.
This was, of course, unacceptable to the European bankers, who immediately used their influence over the British Government to provoke a war with the United States. Their attempts resulted in the War of 1812. Many Americans recognized this for exactly what it was - an attempt by the Rothschild Banking House to retain control over America's purse strings. After all, wars cost money to fight, and the bankers would be eager to 'help' as U.S. war debt mounted.
Realizing this, Thomas Jefferson warned: “I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.” And Harvard President, Joseph Willard, saw clearly the Illuminati involvement in the war. In a speech on July 4th, 1812, he warned: “There is sufficient evidence that a number of societies of the Illuminati have been established in the land. They are doubtless striving to secretly undermine our sacred institutions, civil and sacred. These societies are clearly in league with those of the same order in Europe. The enemies of order are seeking our ruin. Should infidelity (moral looseness) generally prevail, our independence would fall...our republican government would be annihilated...”
But the pressure to re-charter the bank continued relentlessly, and by 1816, America had granted a 20-year charter to the Second Bank of the United States. In the History of the Great American Fortunes, Gustavus Meyers identified the Rothschild family as the major power behind the Second Bank of the United States. Wisely, and to the consternation of the bankers, Presidents Madison, Monroe, John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson paid off U.S. war debts without borrowing one red cent from the bankers!
Americans have been conditioned to look with derision on 'conspiracy theories'. But the Bible is full of warnings against the wiles of the devil and warns us not to be ignorant if his devices. We have laws against 'conspiracy' to commit various crimes in order to combat the criminal element, don't we? Are we so deluded as to think that the most powerful people in the world cannot be involved in conspiracies? Evil intentions must remain hidden in order to be successful. It is the very conspirators who are attempting to enslave mankind who promote opposition to, and derision of, the conspiratorial view of history.
Our founders were under no such delusions. Two nearly identical statements, made by American patriots 150 years apart, illustrate this. Thomas Jefferson warned: “Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of a day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers (political leaders), too plainly prove a deliberate, systematical plan (a conspiracy) of reducing us to slavery.”

And 150 years later, the much-maligned Senator Joseph McCarthy would echo the same warning in the U.S. Senate: “How can we account for our present situation unless we believe that men high in government are concerting (conspiring) to deliver us to disaster? This must be a product of a great conspiracy, a conspiracy on a scale so immense as to dwarf any previous such venture in the history of man. What can be made of this unbroken series of decisions... contributing to the strategy of defeat (in Korea)? They cannot be attributed to incompetence... The laws of probability would dictate that part of (the) decisions would serve the country’s (America's) interest.”
Andrew Jackson vs. The Bankers

President Andrew Jackson wrote late in his life: “I was one of those who do not believe that a national bank is a national blessing, but rather a curse to a republic; inasmuch as it is calculated to raise around the administration (the President) a moneyed aristocracy dangerous to the liberties of the country.”
One hundred and thirty years later, another U.S. President would become aware of the money power influences lurking in the shadows around the Presidential Administration. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy spoke to a group of U.S. Naval Cadets at Annapolis, Maryland. In this speech, JFK stated: “I am convinced that the office of the president is being used to foment a plot to destroy America's freedom. And before I leave office, I must find a way to warn the American People of their plight.” Ten days later, John F. Kennedy was dead. And it wasn’t aliens, UFO’s or the sacrificial lamb (Lee Harvey Oswald) who were responsible.
The election of 1832 was very important to the banking interests, for the U.S. President elected that year would hold office when the Second Bank Charter came up for renewal in 1836. In 1819, Supreme Court Justice John Marshall (an influential Mason) had declared the Second Bank Charter 'Constitutional' in McCullock vs. Maryland. Marshall had cited a mysterious 'implied power' given to Congress in the Constitution which granted it authority to delegate it's monetary responsibilities to third party private banking institutions.
A friend of the money power, Nicholas Biddle, decided to apply for renewal of the charter four years early in the hope that Jackson would do the politically expedient thing of quietly approving it, and thereby not making it a campaign issue. The money power had seriously underestimated Andrew Jackson! The money power had successfully influenced the Supreme Court, and had enough influence in Congress that the charter had sailed through both Houses by comfortable margins. However, Jackson promptly vetoed the charter when it came to his desk! The money power had been dealt a lethal blow, and it would take them 80 years to fully recover.
In retaliation, a would-be assassin, named Richard Lawrence, attempted to kill Jackson. However, both pistols misfired. The percussion caps fired - but the powder failed to ignite in both chambers. Later, new caps were placed on the pistols, their original loads still in the chambers, and both guns fired perfectly! Lawrence later admitted that he had been: “...in touch with the powers in Europe... (who had)...promised to intervene if any attempt was made to punish him”. (Perhaps similar to the way they ‘intervened’ for Lee Harvey Oswald).
Jackson had bellowed in rage and rushed his would-be assassin, later remarking to his Vice President: “The bank, Mr. Van Buren, is trying to kill me - but I will kill it.” The banks retaliated further by causing what economic distress they could, but America was essentially freed from the claws of Satan's Money Power Ministers - for now. Jackson had won.
It is unclear whether Jackson was a devout Christian his entire life. But we do know that he would tolerate no ridicule of the 'Christian religion'. His wife, Rachel, was very devout and Jackson highly regarded her faith. Jackson said of the Bible: “That book, sir, is the rock upon which our republic rests.”
But at the end, there can be no doubt. For on his death bed, Jackson spoke of committing his soul: “...into the hands of a merciful God...the Bible is true...I rest my hope for eternal salvation, through the Blood of our blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” And he admonished those at his bedside to: “...look to Christ as their only Savior.”
The Masons

Freemasonry originated in Europe as a benevolent fraternity of stonemasons. The Masonic Order was infiltrated by the Illuminati, as discussed earlier. A large number of our founding fathers were freemasons, but their involvement for the most part was an innocent association with what they perceived as a benevolent fraternity. By the early 1800s, however, the Illuminati had worked its way into the very highest degrees of the Masons and used the organization as a cloak for its 'nefarious and dangerous' schemes, as George Washington phrased it.
It was the intent of Weishaupt to purposely keep the average Mason in the dark as to the inner workings of the order. He wrote that the average Mason: “...should only imagine that he understands...” the order. Thus, Freemasonry flourished in America in the early 1800s - and so did the Illuminati.
Freemasonry began to fall into disrepute, however, when Captain William Morgan published a small book exposing the secrets of the Order - an offense punishable by death according to the oaths taken by Freemasons. Morgan was murdered by fellow masons, and when the Order closed ranks to protect the murderers from prosecution, the American people reacted with understandable indignation.
Public outrage was so great that a new political party was formed - the Anti-Masons. This party's presidential candidate carried 8 percent of the vote in the 1832 Presidential Elections. The Masonic influences and the Illuminati can be traced throughout all major events in American history to present day. In Behind the Lodge Door, Paul A. Fisher does an excellent job of documenting these evil influences.
Socialism Comes To America

Robert Owen came to America in 1825 to establish his socialist utopian commune at New Harmony in Indiana. Owen is recognized as the father of socialism in America. It would be enlightening to mention at this juncture, that the goals of Communism, Socialism, Fabianism, Collectivism and Humanism are all identical to the goals of the Illuminati.
Public education did not exist in America's early history. When an attempt was made to introduce government education in Boston in 1817, it was discovered that 96 percent of the city's children were already attending school. And the remaining 4 percent had charity schools available should the parents choose to send their children. The plan was summarily rejected. Yet those who wished to create government indoctrinated children did not quit.
Influential writer, Orestes Brownson, was a former pupil of Robert Owen at New Harmony, Indiana, before converting to Christ. Brownson exposed the socialist scheme to establish government schools as a means of indoctrinating the young. Brownson explained the plan hatched by Robert Owen: “The great object was to get rid of Christianity, and convert our churches into halls of science. The plan was not to make open attacks on religion although we might belabor the clergy and bring them into contempt where we could; but to establish a system of state - we said national - schools, from which all religion was to be excluded...and to which all parents were to be compelled by law to send their children. The first thing to be done was to get this system of state schools established. For this purpose, a secret society was formed...” (shades of the Illuminati).
Brownson continued: “The members of this society were to avail themselves of all the means in their power, each in his own locality, to form public opinion in favor of education by the state at public expense, and to get such men elected to the legislatures as would be likely to favor our purposes. How far the secret organization extended, I do not know; but I do know that a considerable portion of the State of New York was organized, for I myself was one of the agents for organizing it.” Like moles moving under the sand, visible only by the telltale ripples, Satan's ministers have been busily sowing their seeds of destruction in America from the very beginning.
Communism is Born

Karl Marx was born in 1818 in Germany. As he matured, his radical ideas caused his expulsion from several universities. Marx wrote the Communist Manifesto in 1848, before he was 30 years old. Marx married, had six children and never held a real job in his life. His primary source of income was his wealthy friend and fellow traveler, Friedrich Engels. Marx was a drunkard and a libertine. Three of Marx's six children died of starvation, and two of the remaining three, committed suicide. When Marx died, all of six people attended the funeral.
The writings and ideals of this 'illustrious' figure were used later as the foundation of future governments which enslaved one third of the worlds population and butchered hundreds of millions of their own people. The writings of Marx are summarized here in his own words: “There is no God... There are no moral absolutes, no right and wrong. The Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount are invalid. We do not believe in eternal morality...the evil a man does is just a reflection of his environment.” Sounds strikingly similar to the ideals espoused by Weishaupt. Incidentally, Karl Marx, at this moment, now knows too late - that there is indeed a God.

Chapter Three - 1851 to 1899
The Civil War

The Missouri Compromise of 1820 had set America’s boundary between slave state and free at the southern border of Missouri. Above would be free - below would be slave states. After the Compromise, Thomas Jefferson wrote: “It is hushed indeed for the moment...but it is a reprieve only... as it is, we have a wolf by the ears, and we can neither hold him, nor safely let him go.”
Jefferson’s words would prove all too prophetic, as our young republic struggled to subdue the evil in her midst, while also preserving the union. For God deals with entire nations in the same way with which he deals with His individual children. When God puts His finger on a besetting sin, He lovingly but firmly requires that sin to be repented of and forsaken. He has made total victory available through faith in the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Yet, in mercy towards our human weaknesses, God deals graciously and patiently, allowing much space for repentance. But there comes a point at which, if the problem is not dealt with, that God’s justice requires that He step in and personally judge sin. This holds true with nations as well as individuals. This principle can be summed up with the following scripture: “For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged” (I Corinthians 11:31).
Since the founding of America, one word had characterized the nation’s dealing with slavery - Compromise. The Missouri ‘Compromise’, the Fugitive Slave Act, the Kansas-Nebraska Act (another compromise) and, the final straw, Dred Scott. In the Dred Scott decision handed down by the United States Supreme Court, slaves (human beings) were classified by the highest Court in our land as property.
When the United States Supreme Court slammed the gavel on this decision in 1854, the Supreme Judge of the Universe also slammed His heavenly gavel and decreed - Judgment must come. During four years of carnage, America paid in blood, and 650,000 men died in bloody battle. A whole generation of men had been swept into eternity. Some into the arms of their savior, many into Hell Eternal - and Hell surely opened wide her mouth to receive.
The apprehensions of Thomas Jefferson, a generation prior to this, soon became a bloody reality: “I tremble for my countrymen, when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever.” The highest Court in our land slammed another gavel in 1963, barring prayer in America’s schools. And yet another, ten years later, classified the unborn (human beings) as property to be ruthlessly disposed of at will.
And make no mistake; the Justice of God does not sleep forever. God’s gavel has slammed yet again, judgment is decreed, but this time America will be leveled. Judgment by fire has been decreed; just as sure as judgment came in 1860. America, prepare to come face to face with the God you have scorned.
God’s Mercy

God, who is ever merciful, having foreknowledge of the shadow of death soon to envelope America, sent revival in the years immediately preceding the Civil War. God used judgment on America’s economy to help turn hearts from worldly riches toward heavenly ones. In August 1857, following several years of speculative economic growth (smaller in scope, but identical to the binge America would embark on in the ‘roaring’ twenties and a portend of things to come) the U.S. Stock Market crashed.
The crash was triggered by the failure of a prominent Ohio bank, which in turn caused a run on the entire banking system in the North. Interestingly, the collapse was limited primarily to Northern banking and industry - while the southern agricultural states came through virtually unscathed. Also of interest, is that Money Power European Banking Houses and their agents in America orchestrated the run on the Ohio bank.
Money Power agents had worked their way into positions of political and economic power in the South in the three decades since 1832. The Illuminati had covered themselves under various cloaks, Jacobins, Nullifiers, the Knights of the Golden Circle and other secret societies. The important thing to remember, though, is that God is sovereign over even the most evil associations. Their plans would never have come to fruition in America - if her people had stayed close to God.
God allowed the crash to lead America to repentance. The Money Powers intended the crash to weaken the North economically in preparation for the war they were helping foment and knew was coming, and to increase the likelihood that the North would see the ‘need’ for a central bank once war debts started to mount. Like all plots hatched by Satan, God took what the devil intended for evil and turned it to good - revival. The revival, which followed the crash, shook the entire nation and served God’s purpose in spiritually strengthening the American people for the enormous struggle to save the union while defeating the evil institution of slavery.
The late 1850s were the early ministerial years of the great D.L. Moody. In later decades Moody’s anointed preaching would shake America, keeping alive the God-given vision of her Puritan fathers. The YMCA (Young men’s Christian Association) was formed in the years immediately preceding the Civil War, and Charles Finney was still preaching the Gospel.
The revival reached into every state in the union and crossed all denominational boundaries. At one of Charles Finney’s meetings in Boston, a traveling businessman stood up and reported: “I’m from Omaha, Nebraska. On my journey east, I have found a continuous prayer meeting...about two thousand miles in extent.” This writer can only exclaim ‘Glory be to God!’. It is estimated that at the peak of this national revival, fifty thousand souls were being saved per week! The modern day equivalent of five hundred thousand (about ten football stadiums full of people - per week).
Pre-war revival even swept Philadelphia (the city which had closed it’s pulpits to George Whitefield two generations earlier) and was characteristic of what was happening nation wide. A Philadelphia minister by the name of Dudley Tyng was one of many men greatly used of God. From three to five thousand men regularly attended his prayer meetings at Jayne’s Hall. In March of 1858, Tyng preached a sermon on the text: Ye that are Men - Serve the Lord. After this single sermon, more than one thousand men came forward to accept Christ as savior. A few days later, Tyng’s arm had to be amputated after it was chewed up in a piece of farm machinery.
Tyng eventually died due to complications. But before he died, Tyng softly asked his good friend, George Duffield, to tell the men to: “Stand Up For Jesus”. Duffield used his friend’s dying words to write the song: “Stand up! Stand Up! For Jesus, ye soldiers of the Cross, lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss. From victory to victory, His army shall He lead, till every foe is vanquished and Christ is Lord indeed!”
So many other great old Gospel songs were born of this revival, among them ‘Just as I Am’, ‘What A Friend we have in Jesus’, and ‘To God be the Glory’ and ‘Blessed Assurance’. Additionally, the Gideon’s Bible Society was born out of this revival.
Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson

General Stonewall Jackson is one of the greatest testimonies for Christ in uniform of the Civil War. When not attending his duties as president of the Virginia Military Institute or leading troops on the field of battle, Jackson loved nothing more than to study and discuss the finer points of God’s Word. On the battlefield, Jackson would face even the most intense enemy fire calm and unruffled; for he knew that he was safely in the protective hands of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
There are documented accounts of Jackson on horseback, riding forward into battle with his men; his hands raised high in the air singing the praises of God Almighty. A subordinate related how that one morning, Jackson exclaimed with an almost child-like, gleeful anticipation: “Perhaps the Lord will grant us victory today!” And the Lord seldom disappointed Jackson.
Jackson is most famous for holding the entire Shenandoah Valley and western region of Virginia against vastly superior Union forces. The Valley Campaign, as it is referred to by historians, is still studied the world over and regarded as one of the most brilliantly executed military campaigns in the history of warfare. Jackson drove himself and his men relentlessly, riding up and down the columns of troops, urging his men to: “Press on, men, press on”.
Jackson’s infantry distinguished itself by covering distances on foot so rapidly that these fighting men were eventually dubbed: “Jackson’s Foot Cavalry”. Up to that time, these were unprecedented rapid deployments of infantry, which confounded and perplexed those sent to defeat him. More than one Union general found himself in a precarious position after underestimating Jackson. Time and again, just when Union generals were sure they had Jackson cornered; he would suddenly appear where they least expected him - and where they could least afford him!
What was the secret of Jackson’s nearly unbroken string of victories? He was certainly skilled in the art of war, but so were many others of his day. The answer is the blessing and favor of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jackson knew nothing of the powerful political and economic forces at work in the world of his day - but he knew Jesus Christ. In his mind, and according to his own good conscience, Jackson sincerely believed he was defending his country and his beloved Virginia. Christ blessed his faithful warrior-servant (who had pledged his allegiance to a cause which God must ultimately destroy) with victories and triumphs unmatched in the annals of military history. Why? Because the Lord blesses his faithful servants even when they are, at times, sincerely wrong in their allegiances.
Stonewall Jackson’s enemies never really touched him. And it was no accident that, when the end came, it was unintentional friendly fire that took him home. Neither was it an accident that this faithful servant and warrior of the Lord Jesus Christ went home to be with his savior (in May of 1863) on the very eve of the beginning of the end for the South. The last words spoken by Jackson were: “Let us cross over to the other side of the river, and rest under the shade of the trees”. Christ spared his faithful warrior the heartache of witnessing the destruction and carnage soon to ravage His beloved Virginia.
Lincoln vs. the Bankers

There is much surrounding American history, which is not taught by modern historians, including the events surrounding the Civil War. In his memoirs, General William Tecumseh Sherman, wrote regarding the War: “...the truth is not always palatable, and should not always be told.” A Senator from Michigan, Zachariah Chandler, was more to the point: “The secret history of these days... concealing many startling revelations, has yet been sparingly written; it is doubtful that the veil will ever be more than slightly lifted” (One Day - all veils will be lifted!).
What were these two men referring to? Is there an ‘untold story’ surrounding the Civil War? Yes. But again let me reiterate that God is always in total control and nothing escapes His notice. The reason that these matters are being delved into here is to help the reader see America as God sees her. Other Christian writers have touched on the historical ‘one-world government’ subject in a passing manner, concluding that God said it would happen, it’s going to happen (which is true), so we need not concern ourselves with it (not true!). American Christians, and the American people as a whole, had better concern themselves with it - because, as we shall see, America has been the primary tool used by Satan to build his New World Order- and God holds America directly accountable for it.
With that said, it behooves the Christian to gain an understanding of the devices of the enemy. Benjamin Disraeli, a prominent member of the English Parliament and later British Prime Minister in the 1870s, said: “The world is governed by very different personages from what is imagined by those who are not behind the scenes.” Of course, the Christian knows that God alone ultimately governs the world.
Abraham Lincoln, like his predecessor Andrew Jackson, fought the Money Powers in their attempt to control America’s vast economic wealth. In fact, the majority of our forefathers readily and clearly recognized the very real dangers of the Banking Houses and Secret Societies. As long as the Lord tarry’s, we ignore these dangers today at our own peril. However, unlike Jackson, Lincoln’s battle with the Money Power would cost him his life.
Lincoln’s warnings about the Money Powers were virtually identical to Jackson’s. Lincoln warned: “The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity...I see in the near future a crisis emerging that unnerves me, and causes me to tremble for the safety of my country...the money power...will endeavor to prolong it’s reign...until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the republic is destroyed.”
The European Banking Houses had decided, after losing to Jackson back in 1832, on a more indirect approach - divide and conquer (one of the most potent devices in Satan’s bag of tricks - inside and outside the Church). The goal was to split America into two sovereign nations, each, of course, with it’s own central bank. This plan failed, simply because it was not God’s will. God ultimately rules in the affairs of men, and over Satan.
A reading of the Constitution adopted by the Confederate States Congress is also revealing: “We the people of the Confederate States, each state acting for itself, and in it’s sovereign and independent character...” Each southern state, upon winning the war, would be free to secede from the Confederacy and act as a sovereign nation (each with a separate central bank, of course!).
Satan’s Ministers in European finance must surely have sat in their Ivory Towers of that day, smiling smugly, puffing on fine cigars and mentally calculating the enormous profits and power they would soon accrue to themselves! There was only one problem...Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln was well aware of the dangers posed to America by the banking houses. He was also aware of the work of Money Power agents in provoking secession in the South. Lincoln was aware that: “...combinations too powerful to be suppressed by the ordinary machinery of peacetime government had assumed control of various southern states.”
After hostilities began, Lincoln came under enormous pressure from the European Bankers, their agents in America and even from elements within his own Cabinet, to authorize a central bank in order to finance the Northern war effort. In addition, the banks had threatened that, if Lincoln refused their offer of financial ‘help’, they would use their influence to bring England and France into the war to aid the south! Lincoln’s back was against the proverbial wall. Even his own Secretary of the Treasury, Salmon P. Chase (the Rockefeller Chase-Manhattan Bank is named after him), threatened that if: “...they (Lincoln Administration) did not accept the (European Bank) bonds...he would flood the country with circulating currency (fiat money issued by European Banks), even if it should take a thousand dollars of such money to buy a breakfast.” (!!)
God provided help for Lincoln from a most unusual source - Russia. Russia had no central bank as yet, thus the Czar was not in the least influenced by the banking houses of Europe. While Lincoln was still president elect, the Russian Ambassador to America informed Lincoln that: “...his country was willing to aid the Washington Government should it be menaced by England and France.”
Russia was an extremely powerful nation with a large Navy - and neither England nor France wanted any part of a fight with the Czar. So, far from the generally accepted explanation that England and France took the moral ‘high ground’ and refused to aid the South because of slavery, their governments, in reality, refused to recognize the South because they were more afraid of the Czar than they were of the banks. The two nations did provide some clandestine help to the Confederacy, but feared war with the Czar too much to openly recognize the South. And what Naval Power provided the bulk of the ships for the Northern blockade of the South? Russia’s, of course.
Most other men would have caved in, but the courageous Lincoln out-maneuvered the bankers. Lincoln created his own U.S. Government fiat money to finance the war - the Greenback. The Money Power ministers’ mouths must have dropped open so wide that their cigars fell into their wine glasses! In contrast to Lincoln’s resistance, the first thing Jefferson Davis did after the Confederate Government was formed - was to establish a southern central bank - backed by Rothschild House.
There were godly men who died on both sides of the Civil War; Brave men such as the devout Christian, Stonewall Jackson, and multiple thousands of others now known only to God Almighty. Lincoln himself paid the ultimate price at the hands of Money Power conspirators from the South and in his own Cabinet. The Czar would also be assassinated a few years after Lincoln. But Satan’s Ministers in world banking had been kept at bay, slavery abolished, and the Union preserved.
A final warning by Abraham Lincoln echo’s down through history to us today: “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reaches us it must spring up among us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.” And: “We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God” (emphasis added).
The Fabians

In an 1882 decision, the United States Supreme Court reaffirmed America’s vision: “Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian...”
But while America was reaffirming her God-given vision, Satan’s Ministers were busily at work. The Illuminati adopted yet another cloak, in 1884, with the founding of the Fabian Society in England. The enemy of our souls and of liberty never quits. Beatrice and Sidney Webb and George Bernard Shaw founded the Fabian Society. It’s purpose was to “...make it as easy... for the Englishman to be a Socialist as to be a Liberal or Conservative.”
The Fabian Society essentially adopted all the planks of the Communist Manifesto (the destruction of Christianity, the traditional family, private property, etc.) and renamed it Socialism, differing with Communism only in the modus operandi. Whereas Communism advocates violent overthrow, Socialism uses the Fabian doctrine of ‘patient gradualism’. The twins of Communism and Socialism, far from being ‘revolutions’ of the downtrodden masses, have always been financed and controlled from the top by world Money Power Rulers.
The Fabian method of patient gradualism sought to indoctrinate young, wealthy intellectuals who could then creep into existing institutions and engineer piecemeal changes in existing concepts of law, morality, government and education by penetrating educational institutions, political parties, the media, labor unions, government - and even the Church. To this end, the Webb’s also founded the London School of Economics, which is today a respected and integral part of the University of London. The ultimate goal of the Fabians is a one-world socialist government.
Fabianism came to America in the late 1800s via educational exchanges with English universities. Sidney Webb toured America in 1888 to promote Fabian (Socialist) doctrine. By 1889, Webb’s Socialism in America publication was being circulated at Harvard. And by 1905, the newly formed Intercollegiate Socialist Society (American Fabianism) had organized chapters at Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, New York University and the University of Pennsylvania. Noted early Fabians were H.G. Wells (the science fiction writer), George Orwell (who wrote 1984) and John Maynard Keynes, whose socialistic economic policies have wreaked havoc with America’s economy. Their counterparts and fellow travelers in the American Socialist movement included such notables as John Dewey (the father of America’s atheistic, Godless public education system), Walter Lippman and Supreme Court Justice Felix Frankfurter, among scores of others.
Fabianism takes it’s name and doctrine from the Roman general Fabius Maximus, who defeated his superior opponent, Hannibal, by refusing to meet in open battle, but rather through a series of smaller battles, followed by retreats, he eventually wore down and beat his superior opponent. And no wonder, for the symbol adopted by the Fabian Society is the ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing’. By the end of the 1800s, Satan’s drive towards world domination was just beginning in earnest - and America would fast become an increasingly useful tool.
Rhodes Scholars

Echoing the satanic vision of Fabian Socialism, Cecil Rhodes envisioned a world government “...to federate the English speaking peoples and to bring all the habitable portions of the world under their control.” And his biographer revealed that: “The government of the world was Rhodes’ simple desire.”
Cecil Rhodes amassed a vast fortune in the gold and diamond mines of South Africa, financed by the Rothschild’s. In his Will, Rhodes set up a scholarship designed to further his vision of world government after his death. Among the notable Rhodes Scholars are former U.S. Senators J. William Fulbright, Frank Church and William Bradley. Also, Dean Rusk (former U.S. Secretary of State), Nicholas Katzenbach (former U.S. Attorney General), Supreme Court Justice Byron White, and, interestingly, rock and roll legend Mick Jagger.

Dwight L. Moody was born on February 5th, 1837, in Northfield Mass. Northfield, you will remember, is one of the cities set ablaze by the fires of the First Great Awakening. Puritan New England was still bearing fruit unto God. Moody was probably the greatest American preacher of the Gospel during the latter half of the 1800s. Moody was saved in 1855 in Boston while working at a shoe store, where a dry goods salesman met him and introduced him to Christ. Moody later moved to Chicago and founded the Pacific Garden Mission on the North side, which ministered to the homeless of Moody’s day. In 1860, President Elect Lincoln visited Moody’s Sunday school class at the mission.
During 1873, Moody and his song leader, the great Ira Sankey, preached revivals all over England. And Moody’s preaching at Cambridge sparked a revival that resulted in hundreds of students being sent all over the world as missionaries. After returning to America, Moody preached at Princeton University and touched off a revival there. He then moved on to Philadelphia where President Ulysses S. Grant and a number of his Cabinet attended the revival meetings. Moody preached similar revivals in cities and towns all over America to combat the moral decline and corruption, which followed the Civil War. It is estimated that by the time of his death, Dwight L. Moody had personally preached to well over ten million people.
In 1923, R.A. Torrey, a close friend and fellow laborer of D.L. Moody, was asked to speak at a large memorial service honoring Moody. The subject Torrey chose to speak on was “Why God Used D.L. Moody”. Torrey’s address provides some remarkable insights into the life and ministry of Moody, and provides insight into the spiritual climate, which would characterize America after 1900. What follows, are some excerpts from Torrey’s speech.
“In his early days he (Moody) was a great hustler; he had a tremendous desire to do something (for God), but he had no real power. He worked very largely in the energy of the flesh. But there were two humble Free Methodist women who used to come over to his meetings at the Y.M.C.A.These two women would come to Moody at the close of meetings and say: ‘We are praying for you to get the power, Mr. Moody.’
Mr. Moody did not know what that meant, but he got to thinking about it, and then went to these women and said: ‘I wish you would tell me what you mean.’ Then he asked that he might pray with them and not they merely pray for him. Auntie Cook (the name of one of the dear ladies) once told me of the intense fervor with which Moody prayed on that occasion...Not long after...Mr. Moody was walking up Wall Street in New York; and in the midst of the bustle and hurry of that city his prayer was answered; the power of God fell upon him as he walked up the street; and he had to hurry off to the house of a friend and ask that he might have a room by himself, and in that room he stayed for hours; ...and the Holy Ghost came upon him, filling his soul with such joy that at last he had to ask God to withhold His hand lest he die on the spot from very joy....
Time and again, Mr. Moody would come to me and say: ‘Torrey, I want you to preach on the baptism with the Holy Ghost.’ I do not know how many times he asked me to preach on the subject...Time and again, when a call came to me to go off to some church, he would come to me and say: ‘Now, Torrey, be sure and preach on the baptism in the Holy Ghost.’ ...Once I asked him: ‘Mr. Moody, don’t you think I have any sermons but those two: ‘Ten Reasons Why I Believe the Bible to Be the Word of God’ and ‘The Baptism With the Holy Ghost’? ‘Never mind that’ he replied, ‘you give them those two sermons.’ (Note: Glory to God!)
Once he had some teachers at Northfield - fine men, all of them, but they did not believe in a definite baptism with the Holy Ghost for the individual. They believed that every child of God was baptized with the Holy Ghost, and they did not believe in any special baptism in the Holy Ghost for the individual. Mr. Moody came to me and said: ‘Torrey, will you come up to my house after the meeting tonight and I will get those men to come, and I want you to talk this thing out with them.’ Of course, I very readily consented, and Mr. Moody and I talked (to them) for a long time, but they did not altogether see eye to eye with us.
And when they went, Mr. Moody signaled me to remain for a few moments. Mr. Moody sat there with his chin on his breast, as he so often sat when he was in deep thought; then he looked up and said: ‘Oh, why will they split hairs? Why don’t they see that this is just the one thing that they themselves need? They are good teachers, they are wonderful teachers...but why will they not see that the baptism in the Holy Ghost is just the one touch that they themselves need?’” Torrey concluded his address by saying: “Men and Women, that is what we all need - the Baptism in the Holy Ghost.”
Many heard and heeded. But America, as one nation, was no longer listening to what God was saying. D.L. Moody died in 1899, during a revival meeting. Now that’s the way to go home to glory!

Chapter Four - 1900 To 1949
America’s Turning Point

Is there a point at which ‘the beginning of the end’ for America can be traced? This writer believes there is. When light is rejected, darkness must necessarily follow. The rumblings of the latter days Holy Ghost outpouring could be heard in the appeals of men like Finney, Moody, and R.A Torrey. America’s rejection of the Holy Ghost latter day outpouring was national. Mainstream America had, for the first time, rejected the move of God.
The Plymouth Brethren referred to next by John R. Rice started in 1825 as a small offshoot of the Anglican Church in Dublin, Ireland and eventually came to recognize a minister named J.N. Darby, as it’s most influential founding leader. It was a sincere group of believing Christians who felt bound by their Christians consciences to break from unbiblical ecclesiastical authority in much the same way America’s Puritan forefathers had broken their ties with the Church of England.
This movement eventually spread worldwide and was a driving force behind the formation and doctrine of much of what we call “Fundamentalism” in America today. On the one hand, this movement helped restore proper dispensational and prophetic truths to the Body of Christ, but on the other hand embraced and spread the unbiblical doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security, that the age of miracles had passed and denied the Baptism in the Holy Ghost as a separate work of Grace along with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Of course, God’s plan went forward on schedule. At the turn of the century God began to pour out His Spirit in America and all over the world. But America’s mainline denominations, and her people as a whole, had rejected God’s move and stepped out of the River of Life being poured out in these last days. During the 1900s, revival after revival, mighty outpouring after might outpouring of God’s Spirit would sweep this nation and the world. But these revivals failed to deeply affect America’s national consciousness, and move the nation toward God as one nation under God, as they had in past generations. America had ceased to move with God - and in so doing she sealed her eventual doom.
In the Introduction to the text of Torrey’s 1923 speech, John R. Rice outlined a poignant illustration of this rejection which, this writer believes, as well as any other, marks the beginning of America’s slide down the slippery slope to destruction: “The reader will notice that R.A. Torrey and D.L. Moody both used the term, ‘baptized with the Holy Ghost’ just as it is used in Acts 1:5 about Pentecost.
Later...Plymouth Brethren said that the term should refer only to Pentecost and the origin of the Church. Thus...they took out of the Moody Bible Institute and other Bible institutes the teaching of D.L. Moody and R.A. Torrey, and took out the emphasis which those great men of God had put on the fullness of the Spirit, or baptism with the Spirit. And so Dr. C. I. Scofield, in the note to the Scofield Bible, took the Plymouth Brethren position and forsook the position of Moody and Torrey which he originally held” (Emphasis added). The mainstream denominational churches in America subsequently adopted this error.
Did God use men and women in these denominations? Of course, and greatly so. But light, when it is rejected, brings inevitable darkness and spiritual decay until only a form without power remains. God was forced, as is so often the case, to go outside established religion to raise up a remnant. For decades these ‘holy rollers’ as they were referred to in derision, served God, as one preacher put it, “On the other side of the tracks”. This Holy Ghost remnant was not only rejected by mainstream denominationalism, but many preachers in these denominations fought and taught against this move of God.
Thus, at the turn of the century, America as a whole, for the first time in her history, had rejected God’s light and moving. A great spiritual void was opened, and, as we shall see, Satan and his ministers were waiting eagerly in the wings to fill the vacuum. From this point forward, God would continue to call America back to her original vision - but the American people, as a whole, have continually refused to hear or heed that call.
That is not to say that God has not moved in America. He has, and greatly so. The 1904 revival in Wales, which resulted in an estimated one hundred thousand conversions to Christ, spread to the United States in 1905. Businesses shut down in entire cities around America as multitudes set aside time for afternoon prayer meetings. And former major league baseball player turned preacher, the great Billy Sunday, who claimed J. Wilbur Chapman as his mentor in Christ (Chapman, in turn, was a disciple of D.L. Moody), preached revivals all over America under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
In 1917, the same year Russia was being delivered to Communism, Billy Sunday preached a revival in New York City to an estimated 1.5 million people. The Salvation Army saw multitudes saved. The Pentecostal churches eventually grew into large denominations. And America was sending an increasing number of missionaries to the far points of the globe.
Incidentally, in 1909, Money Power Minister J. P. Morgan wrote a book debunking the revival in Wales. His primary criticism was that, of the one hundred thousand members added to the churches in 1904, only eighty thousand remained faithful after five years. That’s the best Satan’s Minister could come up with? Hey, four out of five isn’t bad!
Satan’s Ministers Infiltrate the Church

In addition to advancing subversive, humanistic Socialism in government, educational, media and social institutions, Satan’s ministers also launched a concerted attack on the Church. Leading this movement in its early years were two of Satan’s most dedicated subversives; Dr. Walter Rauschenbusch and Harry F. Ward. Dr. Rauschenbusch was a confirmed socialist ‘theologian’ long before his 1907 trip to England where he visited Beatrice and Sidney Webb - founders of the Fabian Society.
Rauschenbusch became a faithful minister of Socialist ideals and goals, adopting the Fabian method of patient gradualism. He disguised his advancement of Socialism under the cloak of a ‘new’ theology called, The Kingdom of God on earth, the forerunner of today’s ‘Kingdom Now’ false doctrine. In fact, the only thing ‘new’ about this man-centered theology was the label. In 1893, Rauschenbusch wrote: “The only power that can make socialism succeed...is religion.” And in Collectivism in the Churches, Edgar Bundy wrote of Rauschenbusch: “Socialism, thus, was his first concern. Religion was only a means of achieving Socialism.”
Dr. Harry F. Ward was a second conspiratorial minister in the socialist movement. In 1908, Ward founded the first communist front organization ever officially identified in America; The Methodist Federation for Social Action (Francis Asbury and the other great Methodist Circuit Riders must surely have rolled over in their graves). Ward also had a hand in the creation of the Federal Council of Churches, later named the National Council of Churches as it is called to this day.
In September of 1961, Ward, now in his 80's, was the keynote speaker at a communist rally in New York, which protested the Supreme Court decision labeling the Communist Party, USA a subversive organization. Ward taught at the Boston School of Theology and for twenty five years was a Professor of Christian Ethics (?!) at New York’s Union Theological Seminary. In Ward’s own words, his goal in teaching his pupils was to create: “...a changed attitude on the part of many church members concerning the purpose and function both of the Church and Christianity.”
The point in all of this is that the heretical error, which has led the Church into apostasy, is authored by knowing and willing ministers of Satan, working in conjunction with the larger satanic conspiracy bent on world domination. These and many other ministers of Satan have ‘crept in unawares’ into America’s mainline denominations until they are mere powerless shadows of their former greatness. Most are today mere extensions of government ‘social service’ agencies. The ‘social’ gospel promoted by Satan’s ministers has robbed these denominations of their power and effectiveness for God. Not all ministers promoting this error were knowing participants, but their acceptance of the errors promoted by knowing conspirators helped the leaven of false doctrine and error to spread throughout the denominational world.
One illustration of the depth of this subversion is that, according to the Congressional Record, of the 95 Bible Scholars and theologians who produced the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible, 30 had long records of support for communist causes. The result was a ‘new’ translation of the Bible which, among numerous other errors, replaced “Behold a virgin shall conceive...” in Isaiah 7:14 with “Behold, a young woman shall conceive”, a not-so-subtle attack on the virgin birth and Deity of Christ (more on ‘new’ Bible versions later).
On November 18-21, 1958, the Fifth World Order Study Conference met in Cleveland, Ohio. The conference, dominated by members of the National Council of Churches, unanimously passed a resolution favoring diplomatic recognition of Communist China by the United States and supporting China’s entry into the United Nations. J. Edgar Hoover later warned the American people in a series of articles published in Christianity Today, of the Communist, Collectivist strategy of deceit in their potent attack against the churches. God’s Word is replete with warnings to be ware of those who secretly and knowingly spread false doctrine in the Church. Christians are commanded to expose and reject false doctrine.
Non-Church Tax Exempt Foundations

Communism, Socialism, Humanism, Fabianism and Collectivism are all identical in their purposes and can all be traced back to their slimy head - the International Money Powers and, ultimately, Satan himself. As we will discover, the Communist governments, which came to power during the twentieth century, were not mass uprisings by the respective peoples. Rather, they were revolutions financed, controlled and used by wealthy American and European Money Powers in their drive toward world government. One most useful vehicle aiding the formation of Satan’s ‘New World Order’ has been the tax-exempt foundations controlled by America’s Money Power.
In the early 1950s, Congressman Norman Dodd was Chief Counsel to Congressman Reese on a Congressional Committee, the Reese Committee, which was formed to investigate the questionable ‘charitable’ activities of various non-profit organizations. Many Americans were becoming alarmed at the collectivist enterprises funded by these organizations (the Ford Foundation, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, etc.).
As part of their investigation, the Reese Committee studied the 1909 minutes of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. The Reese Committee revealed: “The trustee’s of the Foundation brought up a single question. If it is desirable to alter the life of an entire people, is there any means more efficient than war...? (Note: A strange question for an organization dedicated to ‘peace’.) They discussed this question... for a year and came up with an answer: 'There are no known means more efficient than war, assuming the objective is altering the life of an entire people. That leads them to the question: How do we involve the United States in a war? (?!) This is in 1909” (emphasis added).
Then president of the Ford Foundation, H. Rowan Gaither, invited Congressman Dodd to the Foundation offices shortly after the Reese investigation began. During their conversation, the late Congressman Dodd related how Gaither plainly and brazenly revealed to him the purposes of the Foundation. According to Dodd, Gaither stated: “...all of us here at the policy-making level have had experience...with directives emanating from the White House. We operate under those directives here. Would you like to know what those directives are?” Congressman Dodd replied that, yes, he would very much like to know. Gaither then replied: “The substance of these directives is that we shall use our grant-making power so as to alter life in the United States that we can be comfortably merged with the Soviet Union.”
A brief example of the grant-making strategy of these organizations is the children’s television program Sesame Street, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. In one little ditty, the song goes: “One of these things doesn’t belong here, three of these things are kind of the same. One of these things just doesn’t belong here, it’s time to play our game.” The ‘game’ teaches conformity. And the subtle message to young, impressionable minds is: “If it is different, then it’s bad - and if you’re different (a Christian?), that’s bad too.” Individuality is out and socialistic conformity is in - all part of the drive to reduce America to just one more grey mass of socialistic citizenry.
As a closing thought, Americans have been brainwashed by the leftist media to look with envy and derision upon the tax-exempt status of America’s churches. Perhaps we would do better to turn the spotlight on the activities of the Socialist ‘Tax Exempt’ Foundations.
The President That House Built

Edward Mandel House was one of the most diabolical and powerful figures in American history. Yet he remains unknown to most Americans. The father of House immigrated to Texas from England, as an agent of the Rothschild’s, where he made a fortune running the Northern Blockade during the Civil War. The young Ed House was educated in England and kept company with his good friends in the Fabian Society. House, like his father, also became an agent of the Money Power banking interests, specifically, J. P. Morgan.
House was a master psychologist who possessed a truly evil genius in his ability to manipulate and control people. A former college friend commented on this uncanny ability: “My recollection of Ed House...is that he always played the part of a quiet peacemaker. Whenever there was a disturbance, Ed would silently appear, and in a few minutes - you wouldn’t know exactly how it happened - the trouble would be all over.” But in his later years, House readily admitted what really happened: “I used to like to set the boys at each other to see what they would do and then try to bring them around. It was a joy to play such pranks and appear to be an innocent bystander.”
Two prominent psychologists who studied House concluded that this made House: “...feel superior...he could then sit back with quiet amusement tinged with contempt. To control people, to be able, while himself seemingly calm and unruffled, to turn their emotions on and off at will, gratified him enormously. It gave him pleasure...to be in possession of special knowledge and power and then toy with those ostensibly in control of the matter. To have his own competence suddenly and dazzlingly revealed without the least show of bravado or self-advertisement afforded him great satisfaction.”
The psychologists concluded: “His powerful mind...utilized others. It pleased him to play with human beings, to direct their moves as if they were kings or pawns in a game of chess. A master psychologist, he turned their emotions on and off like a faucet.” And why is all this so important? Because for eight years House was the defacto President of the United States. Woodrow Wilson referred to House as, “My alter-ego, my other self.” During the eight years that Wilson was President, wherever Wilson went, there was House, standing quietly and unobserved in the shadows. Wilson never made a move without first consulting House. If an official or diplomat wanted to see Wilson - they saw House first.
The relationship between House and Wilson was eerie, and surely demonic spirits were at work in it. House controlled the President like a puppet on a string. House wrote a book entitled Philip Dru: Administrator, a fictional blueprint for the Socialist takeover of America. House readily admitted that he shared the same dream as the ‘hero’ of the book, Philip Dru, which was “Socialism as dreamed of by Karl Marx.”
And with what regard did House hold the United States Constitution? According to biographer A. D. H. Smith, House believed that the Constitution was a “...product of eighteenth-century minds and a quasi-classical, medieval conception of republics, was thoroughly outdated; that the country would be better off if the Constitution were scrapped and rewritten.” And President Wilson privately shared the same opinion of the Constitution.
In light of all this, it is not surprising that this ‘dynamic duo’ were able to wreak so much havoc with the American system and do so much damage to the Constitution. America has been reeling from the blows ever since. Wilson drove the graduated income tax, long advocated by Karl Marx, through Congress. Wilson rallied the war effort, proclaiming that America had to “make the world Safe for Democracy.” This must have raised more than a few eyebrows of knowledgeable American’s who knew the difference. This slogan is not surprising, for Karl Marx himself wrote in the Communist Manifesto that: “The first step in the revolution...is to win the battle for democracy.”
Government regulatory agencies, which emanate from the Executive Branch (President), were born under Wilson’s Administration - thus wresting control of much of the private sector from the people and handing the reins to government. Restrictions on railroads, shipping, food and fuel distribution, agricultural and other price controls, all manner of industrial private sector controls and suppressions of free speech and military conscription were all born.
The regulatory agencies were, and are, in direct violation of the Constitution. These agencies circumvent the jury system and posses the powers of lawmaker, law enforcer, and judge - what Thomas Jefferson called “The very definition of tyranny.” But the crowning achievement of House and Wilson was that which the Money Power had so long and vigorously worked for - America’s Federal Reserve System - a central bank.
The Federal Reserve Act of 1913

At the turn of the century another President, like his predecessors Lincoln and Jackson, went head-to-head with the Money Power. President McKinley had initiated a federal prosecution of the Northern Securities Company (a major vehicle used by the money power to manipulate the American Banking System). McKinley, like Lincoln, was assassinated. The principled and courageous (but relatively clueless) Teddy Roosevelt became president - and the investigation ceased.
President Wilson spoke of the Money Power of which he was a willing tool: “There is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it.” There is one thing Wilson failed to me
