A Response to the 'America is Babylon' Extreme Interpretation
Dear --------,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my book. No doubt your knowledge of the Babylonian religious and political system far surpasses mine. I only know what the Lord has shown me. From what I do know, we agree on some points.
However, I strongly disagree with your conclusions regarding our founding fathers being Satanists. Now, some influential founders may very well have been. Only the Lord knows for sure. But I do know my God. And I know that if, as you state, the majority of this nations founders were Satanists, and the religion of our founders was a predominantly works-based salvation – that my God never would have blessed this nation as He obviously has.
I rather think that, yes, a few founding fathers were deists, and maybe a few were knowing illuminists. We know that the illuminists are masters of deceit, and usually hide in plain sight. However, the Christian faith of the majority of America’s founders was a genuine one. The Holy Spirit has witnessed to this fact when I have read their writings regarding personal faith. Some, yes, were masons, but, as I state in my book, for most it was an innocent association with what they perceived as a benevolent fraternity.
As to the puritans and our founders practicing a works-based Christianity, this is certainly, for the most part, untrue. The dispensation of the latter part of the Church age, since Luther in the 1500s, has been a steady progression/increase of light. Luther and a few others had foundational light “the Just shall live by Faith”. This progressed up to the turn of the last century, which was the beginning of the latter days outpouring of the Holy Spirit, and continues until today (with a grand finale of Holy Spirit outpouring prior to the Rapture being just ahead). My point is, the puritans and America’s Christian founders were faithful and sincere to walk in the light they had at the time – and God blessed them for it. The blanket conclusion and dismissal of their faith as works-based religion is error.
I have studied somewhat regarding the satanic undertones regarding the Washington Monument, the dollar bill, the geographical design of Washington, D.C., the Statue of Liberty, etc… and do not doubt that illuminist influences were probably at work in the designs. In fact, the very theme of my book is a cursory, historical, parallel look at both America’s Godly foundation and history coupled with the seeds of potential destruction present even at the very beginning. However, this understanding must be kept in the proper perspective.
As Benjamin Franklin so aptly put it: “God rules in the affairs of men”. And, as the Lord Himself states: “IF MY PEOPLE, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14). The illuminists could have accomplished little – if the People of God in America, as one nation, would have stayed true to Him.
‘America is Babylon’ – is incorrect in that it is incomplete. I believe that, due to America's intimate involvement in Iraq and the rebuilding of the original Babylon, that America (as well as the whole of the world in rebellion against God) is specifically identified as/with Babylon 'the Great'. I do not yet have a 100 percent understanding of this topic – but I do know that Babylon refers to much more than merely America. Yes, there are specific references that apply specifically to America. But Babylon proper is much bigger than any one entity (i.e., America, Rome, Brussels, the EU, the literal city, the religious harlot, etc.). In fact, I believe ‘Babylon’ (both religious and political) encompasses and represents all of these (the entire world system in rebellion against God) collectively, with scripture also identifying each individual entity specifically. An incomplete understanding has contributed greatly to the controversy regarding the identity of Babylon.
Thus, saying “America is Babylon” is the equivalent of saying “Kentucky is America”. The reply would be: “Well, yes, and no”.
Sincerely,
Shilohcomes
