~DARK SHADOWS~

There are dark shadows when there's not a clue,

Or any earthly force to see you through.

Only the almighty power of prayer

Can lift this heart-breaking anguish you bear.

I am deeply moved, but my mind is numb.

I long to comfort, but my tongue is dumb.

My words seem flat, and I feel at a loss.

Could this be how many felt at the cross~

When the darkness choked out THE LIGHT that day?

Now CHRIST lives to make darkness flee away.

Cling to this wondrous assurance, my friend~

Trials come oft' as blessings in the end!

ONLY GOD KNOWS

There is so much I do not know,
Weighed down with care, my mind is slow.
There's so much I don't understand~
But I'm glad GOD has the "upper hand"
From the start to the end of it all
HE is near to hear each time I call.
Only God knows what lies ahead,
For HE has planned the path I tread!

NO TEARS IN HEAVEN

My friend, there areNO TEARS IN HEAVEN, I'm told.

Have tests and trials caused your heart to grow cold?
You must keep your focus on the task at hand.
Don't dwell on the past, or try to understand.
Avoid despairing thoughts of what might have been,
"Oh, if only this or that. . .", my friend, 'tis sin!
What's done, is finished and all in the past.
Don't let the demon of regret hold you fast.
A broken heart, when given to GOD, I've heard
Is restored whole again, when bathed in HIS word.
HE'll lovingly soothe, and fill you with HIS peace.
Complete trust in HIM, will all your fears release.
Cast on the Almighty GOD your every care.
Give it ALL to HIM, on the wings of your prayer.
HE'll take your heavy load, turn it to pure gold,
Because there are NO TEARS IN HEAVEN, I'm told!
