THANK YOU, HEROES

I owe my heritage to those heroes who gave their all,
Those who for the cause of freedom, answered duty's call.
Those men and women who went away and never came back,
They rose to the challenge, pressing on though the sky was black.
Black with the smoke of spent guns, bombs, and enemy fire.
In the face of death, they strove to hold their flag up higher.
I owe deepest respect to those who came back, missing parts.
Their bodies scared and battered, broken, yet~with thankful hearts.
Hoping to go on with life, though fearing rejection's blow,
Looking for acceptance among those who may never know~
What it means to sacrifice~freedom's enormous cost,
Nor have even stopped to think "what if that war were lost?".
Thank you, heroes, of all the battles, of all the ages!
Though men may not know you, your names are on Sacred pages.
Your faithfulness has been noted by HIM of Highest Rank.
When the roll is called in Heaven, each soldier HE will thank~
Those who served HIM to stay the force of evil in their land.
Take your place in the Celestial Host and valiantly stand!

AMERICA
America! GOD shed HIS grace on this land!
What is happening now? Oh, where do we stand?
For many~has it become almost a shame
To even hear America's once proud name?
My friend, can GOD any longer shed HIS grace,
Or in great disgust, does HE cover His face,
When our leaders promote what HE has called sin,
And our schools forbid any mention of HIM?
In an age where wrong is right and right is wrong,
Are truth and integrity virtues long gone?
What about all those heroes who gave their all,
For the cause of freedom, answered duty's call?
Did those who paid dearly, give their lives in vain?
Could we face our founding fathers and explain~
Why our history books need to be changed,
Important details left out or rearranged?
How can we continue in this downward trend?
When will GOD say "I've had enough! This must end!"?
America, GOD does have limitless grace,
And HE still honors those who will seek HIS face.
HIS truth, IN TRIUMPH, marches steadily on~
The battle may rage~but the victory's won!

GOD GIVE US MEN

GOD, give us men of honor to make this nation strong,

Men who can tell the difference between right and wrong,

Who aren't afraid to stand fast for all that is true,

Men who first keep themselves in check, can lead others, too!

A PRISONER'S PRAYER

Oh GOD, I've lost track of the days in this place.
Please give me a fresh supply of YOUR grace.
Help me to see this seclusion as rest,
In preparation for the final test.
Strenghthen me anew for what lies ahead.
Don't let my folks lose hope, fearing I'm dead.
Please remind them of me, when I'm weakest,
When the progress to freedom seems bleakest,
Nudge them to pray fervently in need's hour.
May they not forget YOUR Almighty power,
And YOUR specialty in working things out,
When all other means seem clouded by doubt.
May I be faithful whether here or there.
Thank you, GOD, for hearing this soldier's prayer.
