Dear Brothers and Sisters, The disciples, having been familiar with My prayer life, and coming to know that all of My prayers were always heard and were indeed the continued source of My strength and power, desired likewise to be taught to pray by Me as John the Baptist had taught his disciples. Prayer and communication with the Father was My meat and delight and it was with much joy that I taught My disciples the form and fashion of sending letters from earth up to heaven. It is with much joy that your Father in heaven receives your prayers. Believe in and have confidence upon the infinite Fatherhood of God, realizing that He is interested in your welfare and warfare upon this earth, and that He will give all things which are best for His children according to His goodwill and Word. The model prayer that I left for each of you is not giving information about yourself to the Father, for this is conversation, which is also expected of you. In prayer, you need not acquaint or introduce yourself to your Father, for you, as His children are graven upon the palms of My hands, the scars I bore for you upon the cross, introduced each one of you and made passageway for your prayers and petitions. You need not coax your Father in heaven to hear you, for as I delighted to thank the Father for always hearing Me, so too, you may share in this same delight and confidence and come boldly to the throne of grace through My merits and Name. Your Father has knowledge of your needs before you even voice them, but His love for mankind wants to hear your voice to Him.You Will find that the Father knows each of you better than you even know yourself, and it is His design and pleasure to answer your prayers so that He may receive your honor and praise, and that it may be a great witness and sign to you of His providence and care of each one of you as He answers you.On this wise, consequently, this is how you should pray to the God of all creation and the upholder, ruler and guardian of life: Our Father: The address teaching you not only to bring prayers for yourself but for all other peoples to the pater {pat-ayr'} of your Savior, Jesus Christ, who was appointed to explain to you the intimacy and reconciliation: By Word and example of the relationship I placed before you upon this earth. Which art in heaven: Who dwells in the vaulted expanse the universal and aerial sky, who alone created the world and its creatures, for no other god or idols can take this honor and title. Hallowed be Thy Name: The call of the saint to the One who sanctifies. May Your Name, 0 Father, be acknowledged to be venerable, pure and holy to all who dwell upon this earth, and may we your saints be responsible for keeping profanity far from the use of Your Name. Thy Kingdom come: The petition that I have had saints praying for since I said unto them, "Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His Kingdom." It was six days later that I allowed three of My disciples to see Me transfigured, so that they might know that they were to pray for the reign of the Messiah. Not only in My First Advent where I set up My spiritual Kingdom in the hearts of people, but to pray for My Second Coming, the reign in which would be not only spiritual, but corporeal, where then comes the end, when I shall have delivered up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power: For I must reign, till I have put all enemies under My feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven: I set the example of this petition for you in the Garden of Gethsemane, when I prayed saying, "0 My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from Me: Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will. For if you will truly believe and confess that you are but strangers and pilgrims on the earth and that you belong to a better country which is heavenly, a city which God has prepared for you where all things are ruled by God's good pleasure, then you shall truly be able to pray the petition that Your Father's will be done not only in your individual life, but also upon the entire earth. Your prayers mingle with that of the saints that are around you and have gone before you, as sweet incense ascending upwards unto the heavenly throne. There is no better prayer to be voiced then the prayer that the Holy Spirit utters through your lips. Give us this day our daily bread: The petition of the one who asks for his daily provision to sustain his life. You are here taught to pray, our daily bread, again, not only remembering your needs in prayer, but the needs of those that dwell upon this earth. You are taught, as the Israelites were, to be concerned for the day only at hand, for as My Father sent them manna, bread from heaven, "It is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack. Remember to take therefore no thought for the next day: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. And as you are praying to your Father in heaven for daily bread, recall how I said to you, “Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is Myself which came down from heaven, and gives life unto the world. I am the bread of life: he that comes to Me shall never hunger; and he that believes on Me shall never thirst.” Therefore, I say to you, when you pray this petition, you are to call to your Father in heaven to give you Me and to give to others Me, the true bread of life. And you will find that I am sufficient for all your needs. And forgive us our debts: This is the address of the sinner to the One who alone can pardon sin. Your sins are your debts. Debts that through a lifetime can pile high. Debts that you owe the Creator. I paid that debt in full on Calvary with My very own life blood. I died for you, that through My sacrifice you may come to the Father and ask Him to see you as covered and atoned with and by My blood. That which is legally due, your debt, will be covered and erased. Instead of the punishment of nonpayment you now receive the reward of righteousness, liberty and freedom from debt. As we forgive our debtors: This is a plea of God's grace through you and His mercy extending out toward others. If you are encouraged to hope that God, the Father, forgives your debts to Him, you will be encouraged to quickly and unconditionally forgive others their debts against you exactly in the same manner. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged: and with what measure of forgiveness you render, it shall be measured to you. Be yourselves therefore merciful as your Father in heaven is merciful. And lead us not into temptation: As a sojourner upon this earth, you need to have your Father lead you and keep you upon the straight and narrow path that leads to the eternal safety of your true home in the heavenlies. Having prayed that all guilt of sin and all manner of debt be removed from you, you must now ask that you may not be tempted to return to it, nor be tempted to yield to new transgressions. But deliver us from evil: I spoke the word evil in the nominative case which literally means the evil, applying it both to the evil that you have just been delivered and pardoned from, and also from the Evil One, Satan, which tempts men to do his bidding. I conquered him in the temptation in the wilderness by which he sought to divert My mission. I conquered him upon the cross and overcame the curse of death and I am victorious. Learn to wield the sword of the Word effectively and no foe, no enemy, no evil, and no sin can ensnare and capture you. I did not say that you would not to tested or tried, but I do say to you to pray that the Evil One would have no power of persuasion and captivity over you. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.: The praise and thanksgiving again is given to the Father Almighty who not only establishes His Kingdom in your hearts, but who will send Me again as you watch for My appearing to establish this Kingdom upon the earth as it is in heaven. He alone has the power to install it, and He alone shall receive all the glory for His majestic works. A true saint will never be able in words alone to praise and thank the Creator sufficiently for all His mercy and grace. Amen.: At the end of prayer, you will add, so it is, so be it, may it be fulfilled as we offer these solemn prayers to God. And so, My dear children, as you long to hear the voice of the Guardian of your soul, I too long to hear your petitions spoken in sincerity of heart in remembrance of the form and fashion I have taught you to pray in. I would encourage you in your own manner to voice your prayers also in your very own words which are familiar and comfortable to you, but in recollection that I have taught you the order of petition that will rise high to enter the gates and court of heaven for you.As you become accustomed with this fashion of prayer, the Helper, the Holy Spirit, will help you to pray for all things that touches My Father's will. When you truly pray for His honor and that His will be accomplished, you shall then see that with God, nothing is impossible for you.
