My name is Craig Watson. I enjoyed much success "of this world" - including playing in Las Vegas, and touring with a top midwest band called Roadmaster. But I was empty inside until Jesus filled that emptiness 12 years ago in the middle of a graveyard! He filled the "hole inside" that the secular music scene could not. My "addiction to the world" was replaced with an "addiction to Jesus Christ!" As Paul, the Apostle, stated many times in his letters to the Church, "I have no other choice but to follow Jesus!" - my walk is echoed through these words.
Being raised in a church atmosphere from a young age, I knew about Jesus, the stories, and the words He spoke, but never understood the reality of having Him in my life. From an early age I knew I had the gift of music and songwriting within me, and for 18 years chose to use that gift in the secular world. Falling into every trap of that lifestyle, while achieving some success in the music world. In 1985 my beautiful wife was saved and began planting seeds of truth within my humanistic, hardshelled heart. PRAISE GOD FOR PRAYING FAMILIES!
I never fought her new way of life, but never relinquished to them either, still choosing my own path and continuing in the sins I had let become a part of my life for so many years. Yet, on Aug.14, 1991, the Lord supernaturally, and in a clear, distinct voice, one that was unmistakably the voice of God, told me to do some things & say some things to a situation that had come up in our family, and that He would start a healing process within. YES, God is still speaking to sinners. Thank the Lord!! In the middle of a graveyard, surrounded by death and sorrow, the Lord, then and there, gave me new life. A life filled with His truth, and His power.
In the years I've walked with Him, my direction concerning the gifts He has given me are clear. USE THE MUSIC TO PROCLAIM MY GLORY!! As Paul stated, "I've been on the Damascus road, I have no choice but to believe!" I also have traveled on the Damascus road. I've seen and heard the light of truth in ALL reality... and in profoundness can say, "I have no other choice but to follow Jesus!"
Along with U4EA I am also currently the music leader at my church, Faith Community in Indianapolis, Indiana. My goal is to bless your spirit through our music.
Here are a few of my favorite verses from the Bible, Psalm 33 1-4: "
Sing for joy in the LORD, O you righteous ones;
Praise is becoming to the upright.
Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre;
Sing praises to Him with a harp of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy.
For the word of the LORD is upright,
