Question; how does a person have happiness?
4 Steps to Happiness:
1. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO ADMIT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER BEFORE GOD. Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23
2. YOU MUST BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS GOD’S SON AND HE DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU. Romans 5:8, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, 17
3. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO GIVE UP YOUR SIN AND TURN OVER YOUR LIFE AND YOUR WILL TO GOD. Romans 10:9
4. YOU MUST PRAY TO JESUS CHRIST AND INVITE HIM TO COME INTO YOUR LIFE AND TAKE CONTROL OF YOU. Romans 10:9-13

WELCOME TO BUFFALO VALLEY COUNSELING
|

WELCOME TO BVCC/ Dr. John Radke
Buffalo Valley Counseling was founded in 1993 by Dr.John Radke. The Counseling Ministry got its beginning when God put a burden on John's heart to help people to reach Spiritual and Emotional healing in his Church. John was the founder and Senior Pastor of The Buffalo Valley Baptist Church of Lewisburg, PA. The Church was started in 1983 and grew to 108 people. John was Pastoring this Church and Counseling his people along with other Christians who came to him from the community. John felt the call on his life to go into full time Christian Counseling. This was the birth of the Counseling Ministry. From that point, Dr. Radke and his wife Celeste began a new ministry by faith, believing that Christian Counseling was needed and important. The Counseling Center started small, and John found a position as a staff Counselor with The Christian Church of Cogan Station, PA. John built the Center and worked as a staff Counselor for two years, seeing hundreds of people. The Counseling Center had a building in Lewisburg near Buffalo Crossroads for four years. John decided to move the Counseling Center adjacent to his home in New Columbia, PA. in 1998. God has blessed the Counseling Ministry and made it very practical because it is close to home. John has saved hundreds of marriages from divorce and has helped hundreds of Christians who suffer with depression, Child abuse, anxiety, and addictions. There have been many unsaved people who have been reached with the Gospel and the salvation message through this ministry. Our client outreach has gone up and down, but God continues to bless this ministry with the support of those whose lives have been touched.
OUR APPROACH TO COUNSELING
Buffalo Valley Counseling is a very personal Christian Counseling Agency. We truly care about helping individuals in a confidential and loving way. Many folks do not know what to expect when they come to Christian Counseling. The first thing we do with our patients is to get to know them personally and as much about their background and family upbringing as possible. We want our patients to feel at home. We listen very carefully, gather information about our patient's history. If we find areas that need healing, we then use a Biblical Approach, along with Psychological tools that bring healing to the whole person. We believe that God made man in three parts; Body, Soul, and Spirit and we address healing to all three parts. We pray for and spend a great deal of time with each patient, and will also allow our patients to contact us by telephone and email when they are having difficulty through the week. We encourage our patients Spiritually and pray with them about their healing. Our goal at BVC is to help Christian people so that they can grow and Transform their lives (Romans 12:1,2). We are experienced in treating many different types of problems. Our Counseling Center is a respected agency in the community and works with Medical Doctors and other professional agencies. Many Christians come to us for help with: Depression, Anxiety, Marriage and Relationship problems, Eating disorders, Alcohol and drug abuse, Childhood abuse, Sexual abuse, Knowing God's Will, Parenting advice, testing adults and children with ADD,ADHD and OCD, Grief counseling, and many other issues.
OUR HISTORY AND SUPPORTERS
Buffalo Valley Counseling Center was incorporated in 1993. We started out with offices in Lewisburg and in Williamsport. In 1998, we moved our offices to New Columbia, where we now reside. In 2007 we dis-organized as a non- profit organization to become Buffalo Valley Counseling/Dr. John Radke. All of our financial support comes from the fees of our patients and from the seminars and speaking engagements that we conduct. We have always kept our fees low for the purpose of reaching Christian Families who need help but can not afford high costs. We believe in the Great Commission found in Matthew 28: 18-20. There are many folks who come to us who are not saved, and we have the wonderful privilege of presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ to them. Some of these folks who come to us not only need Salvation, but they also need deep healing in their soul. We are able to Disciple them to health and wholeness. In 2003, we recently were approved by the New Life Counseling Ministries of the Laguna Beach, CA. 92652, to be an affiliated Care Provider. New Life is an outstanding organization, which we are proud to be connected with. Many of the counseling techniques that we use at BVC are tools from Dr.John Townsend, Dr.Henry Cloud, and founder, Stephen Arterburn.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
As a professional Ministry, we set forth the following beliefs, which have been agreed to by the professional and support staff of New Life Ministries and Dr John Radke. These beliefs are essential to our treatment philosophy and ministry.
1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, inerrant, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is one God, Eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He has revealed Himself in creation, history, and in Jesus Christ.
3. We believe in God's creation of the world and humankind and in humanity's rebellion and subsequent fall to sin.
4. We believe in the person and work of Jesus Christ, including His deity, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His true humanity, His miracles, His substitutionary death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to Heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father and in His 2nd coming and personal return in power and in glory.
5. We believe that salvation in Christ is for all men and that it is most important step one can take to Spiritual and mental health.
6. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ as one's Savior and the eternal security of the believer.
7. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a godly life and to grow in the knowledge of God and Christian obedience.
8. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved unto the resurrection of life and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
9. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and in the importance of the Church for worship, service and Evangelism. We stand against legalistic Fundamental controlling Churches, who believe they are the only ones with the truth.
10. We believe in the sanctity of life and believe abortion is wrong.
11. We believe in God's design of marriage and that it is permanent and binding. However, we believe that divorce happens to good people and that the Bible states that divorce is Biblical in unusual circumstances: "Idolatry, as described in Matthew 5:32, and "abandonment" of a Christian by a non-Christian as described in I Corinthians 7:15. As a Christian Agency, we will do all we can to preserve marriage.
12. We believe that all psychological principles should be thoroughly evaluated through the grid of Scripture, and that Scripture always holds the final authority.
