Greetings, LPM Family in the name of our wonderful Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

Well, let me wish you all a very Happy New Year, even though it is already the 19th of the month. I have been extremely busy with year end paperwork, which is why this newsletter is a bit late this month. You should have all received your statements of giving for 2009 by now. I so appreciate all the help over the last year. In 2009 I spoke at 98 different prison meetings. It was a real blessing to talk and pray with the men. I would not trade the memories for anything. To present hope in Jesus Christ is truly a privilege. This year has gotten off to a good start meeting wise. I have been to Baraga twice and Munising already. I had to cancel the first meeting at Newberry due to weather, but I am looking forward to being there on Jan. 28th. I have been ministering on the importance of having a proper foundation in our lives of the Word of God. I start off this message looking at what Peter said about how we came to receive Gods Word. He reminds us that no prophecy of scripture came as a result of a prophets own interpretation. He tells us that men of God spoke as they were inspired of God. 2 Peter 1:19-21 From this passage we understand that the bible is Gods own Word to us. Jesus further teaches us, it is tremendously important what we do with these Words. In Matthew 7:24-27 we read of Jesus illustration of two men who built houses. Jesus likens these houses to those who hear Gods Word. Jesus says the guy who builds his house on the rock is like one who hears the Word of God and does it. The rock is a sure foundation with no shifting when the storms of life come. The man who builds his house on the sand is likened to one who only hears Gods Word. He does not do it or apply it to his life. Then Jesus mentions storms that come. There is no difference in the storm. Both houses have to face it. The house that was built on the rock was still standing after the storm came and went. The house built on the sand came crashing down and Jesus said great was the fall of it.

In Proverbs 4:20-27 Solomon instructs his son on the importance of listening to the Word. He says it is life to a mans body and health to all his flesh. Did not Jesus himself teach us in John 6:63 His Words are Spirit and Life? There is much more I have been sharing with the inmates along these lines, but space does not permit me to go into any more. As I mentioned, this newsletter is a bit late because of paperwork I have had to get done and I have more paperwork over the next few weeks to complete for years end business. So I will not be putting out a newsletter in February. I have an upcoming need that I wanted to let you know about. In May car insurance is due for the year. It helps me if I can pay it in one shot so I can apply monthly giving to other needs. Last year the ins. was $1454. Anything that you are led to help with that cause is greatly appreciated. I will continue to preach to the inmates as long as God keeps the door open and I have the ability to go. Once again, May God bless you and keep you.
